By Target shooting if you mean 10mtr air rifle shooting, Get an IHP25 or a 35 in .177
Get it from Aimco Calcutta for a very reasonable price.

As an example of overcoming adversity, Karoly Takacs has few peers. He was part of Hungary’s world champion pistol-shooting team in 1938, when an army grenade exploded, crippling his right hand. Ten years later, having taught himself to shoot with his left, he won two gold medals in the rapid-fire class.

Go for an IHP/National. Both are manufactured by the same company. Buy a 25 if you are keen on target practice, because it uses lighter .177 pellets. National 35 uses heavier .22 pellets.
"Diana" sold in India is shoddily made - in every way -and is better avoided.

IHP / National, has been undoubtedly a consistent quality airgun for years and a good one by current Indian
standards. you can go for a IHP 25/35, both have .177,
if you have shot a few and is serious to target practice, get an imported airgun, and as a substitute IHP 35 .177 till you get your hands on one.
if you are planning plinking, targets, cans whatever.. .22 is a good motivator!!!.

There is no "Diana" made in India, its "New Diana" and other than the Diana there is no similarity in the products, not even pivots or nuts match in quality!! so "New Diana" a big no especially for 3300..drjpmenon wrote:Sat Nov 27, 2010 9:06 pm --

"Diana" air rifles are available in India.. at least in Karnataka! I have seen 3 pieces bought by friends and brought to me for various repairs/adjustments. All the weapons were bought either in Coorg or in Mysore..There is no "Diana" made in India

not that Dianas are unavailable.
If you see an INDIAN air rifle bearing the logo "Diana", (not a German air rifle sold in India) it is the result of plagiarism, quite like the "Kwaletee" ice cream cones you encounter driving past Sikandrabad
