OBLIGE ME IF YOU CAN..

THANK YOU
You came and can leave at your own sweet wish..good sense of humor would help a lot share a laugh and move on members did answer your question..we all are entitled to few funky questions, another one should be whether it makes sense for trudging all the way to Kanpur i.e. if they exchange defective pieces faster than in Chandigarh. Does Chandigah have any inhouse armor to troubleshoot issues or one can check few pieces and get pick of the litter..I doubt Kanpur allows you to pick a piece either..rest everyone to their own..Good luck

no need to ask the factory people to extend the date as u already have the grace period of 14 days. see ur call letter first. u can go any day within this period after the given date. ive just collected mine in oct from fgk.

i doubt if foreign made revolvers can be sold by army officers to other license holders.and moreover import of foreign made wpns are banned now.there is no point to it ,dont take a chance bcos the arms laws in india as it is are very strict and draconian.if ur wpn is pre-1986 with the right import papers then maybe u can sell it off.best thing would be to contact a renowned and reliable arms dealer and find out wht paper work is reqd.Goodluck..!!

If he has brought the firearm for his own private use and the same is endorsed on his firearm license and no conditions have been imposed on the resale of that firearm by Army/Defense Ministry/Central Government, then he can give a 45 days notice prior to sale an under rule 5(2) (b) of Arms rule, 1962 to his licensing authority and sell his firearm to any other bonafide arms license holder or arms dealer with permission of licensing authority after 45 days.

sure shot way to reduce the trigger pull

Post by ashwani_jan » Mon Nov 08, 2010 11:56 am

once, one of our senior members advised here to cock the hammer & keep it in safe for a period of one month or so to reduce the trigger pull.

i did the same for 20 days. and my rev's trigger is smoother now without loosing its originality and also firing without any hassle.

i tried it first time on this deepawali, fired 6 rounds.

As the seniors advised me to go for it before booking, i found the same that there is no alternate available in the market in terms of quality and price.

Really its a best deal. Rather its a steal in these prices. its really a sleek and smooth beauty.

we just doubt it coz' its india made.

"sasti bhed ki poonch utha utha ke dekhne wali baat hai bas."

i thanks to my all senior members for encouraging and their valuable guidance they given me continuously before its booking.

regards to all.

Personally I will never do that to my revolver. Its an unorthodox manner of getting a desired result. I will never try to kill the strength of the main tension spring. Well it is good if it has worked for you Mr.Jain. But I personally do not recommend it.

ashwani_jan, Solutions are always there and every thing that is written in book is not the only solution . I can assure you that till the time you maintain your revolver well i.e cleaning barrel after shooting ,oiling ect , the iof piece will serve you for life.
Cheers,
James...

yes mr. james, the condition of maintaining the rev. is not only with iof piece but even with firangi ones too.
But overall its a worth purchase n i personally feel its better to have it then being crazy after the foreign made. its really a wise decision to go for it.

Well tis long argument of desi and videshi stuff available all around ( in india of course ), one thing i have come across after more than two months of extensive study in the field of weaponry and related stuff that as far as the iof .32 revolver is concerned here are some of my own observations and study ( i might be wrong ; please correct me ) that to go for a brand new gun is more advantage than any of the used and more than two or three decades old imported or videshi stuff .

1. The latest make of mark 3 revolvers are having much more superior finish and safety feature such as firing pin transfer bar which is latest design in almost all the new products i have seen overseas in comparison to old thingies where the coc is almost worn out or made by jugaad by a local gunsmith wich may convert a webley into a desi kutta if not properly made. Some time or the other every damn thing has to be used and repaired there of...

2. Price factor : if you can get a best revolver for 2000 usd in overseas than why we are forced to buy the old and obsolete things at the double price ; i see no logic.... so as far indian conditions i think better to go for iof .32 ; value for money and lot of new enhancements like rose wooden grips make the beauty .

3. Reliability : the mechanism of all weaponery is dependent upon the springs one way or the other , as the time passes each thing will need repair and replacement and i doubt from where the local gunsmiths be arranging the perfect fit springs and if it is jugaad then God is the saviour...

4. Peace of mind : a old gun owner may never know where and when his gun had misfired or had a stuck bullet or repaired beyond repair that could guarantee the very purpose of the gun , i.e. the accuracy and sure shot action... , when held by the previous owner... , most of people sell of their guns as due to trouble or the same consent of selling a car after driving it for more than 1.25 lak kilometres or after an accident...

5. i have fired some shots from a colt revolver of my uncle and gradually two of them ( kf cartriges ) missed and when same used ones i fired it with my freinds iof revolver they went off , i think the less powerfull springs or the worn out springs may not be able to fire the not so good of the lot kf cartridges . After that my Uncle is using imported ones , and my confidence on iof revolver is better and higher...

if some of the members find any suggestion or rectification , they are welcomed....

Dear, indigo_indo
u r absolutely right on all the points, considering these all the points i went for the iof. one another thing is that when some one purchases an old videsi rev. he cant afford the imported ammo for so long let it be he is so rich, initially he can afford it but in the long run he has to go for kf cartridges and the price factor do matters for all. and he cant use his weapon generously in marriages and occasionally for fun (even the kf's are getting costly about Rs 70 each).

And the very Ist thing is reliability (i.e. the accuracy and sure shot action... , when held by the previous owner... , most of people sell of their guns as due to trouble or the same consent of selling a car after driving it for more than 1.25 lak kilometres or after an accident...).............. as u mentioned.
The best weapon --> "weapon in need is weapon indeed" (which u can use confidently)

Nothing left in boasting that i have an imported one(puraani khatara) but i have "NEW ONE" :D
