As XL_targets puts it,it doesn't matter what your antecedents are.Now that you have brought up the topic my grandfather was training to be RAF pilot in 1939 when he was your age and laid down his life fightings Nazi's before he was 24 but that doesn't make me any authority on air force or fighter plans,I do come from a strong military background from last 17 generations.

If I understand correctly you mean to say your decision on choice of firearms carry weight with military strategists? If thats the case I am really concerned.

I agree I'm a lil immature, and at this age can easily get under someone's influence. But, that's entirely different from grabbing knowledge . . Not just by reading it from somewhere, but practically as well. Looks like I'm not gonna have to be the one to reconsider what I said

I've got a big enough platform in my own family. This website here serves me as just a pastime.

Most of guys have similar platforms like yours here and some even bigger but they dont like to brag about it.This website is serves pastime to all the members and you are not special and this forum is a special place and don't need comment like that from spoiled brat!

at least after studying AM,SOM,TOM,DOM and metallurgy ... (IIT Delhi MECH. batch here..) i couldnt think about designing a gun...
atleast bacha have a dream.... may be wanna to be another Mikhail Timofeyevich Kalashnikov... let him to... but India is not the heaven place for that..

hey A47 (amrinder 47) dont worry.. still young dont drop the idea.. study mechanical engg.. and go to Philippines.. ( may be best place to get a chance for gun designer- if roockie..) .. else try some where else you can do what you dream...

But the disclaimer is in India, almost everything is impossible.
But yea dont loose on the dream and hobby, but like advicesed by all the members, Pls refrain of talkin to many ppl, splly any one saying that make for them, but i am sure that with family background, you would have already got that advice
What i can suggest, again i might be legally wrong, pls check for legal correctness, what you can try doing here is going for apprenticeship with any legal gunsmith . It might not be easy, but i think this is best that you can get here, or if you pull some string, try doing some training in the ordinance , that would be ideal.

Like told by all, designing and making are totally different, yes but its small step to bigger aim, but its a huge knowledge world, much more than just mechanics, ballistics and metallurgy, just to name few.
So keep on reading and giving your designs finner points like metal to be used, or trying to calculate the forces, stress, heat etc, which each part of you gun would be exposed too, So you can start giving it more details, these points given by seniors will only help you become better and give you a reality check, who knows, that you will stumble across more fascinating facts about handguns.

but dont loose your dream, but thread with caution.
last but not the least, pls no boasting, like told by bespoke, every one has some or the other past or the expertise, even the most idiot member that you might think , So relax, take the feedback positively. This is huge knowledge pool, it all depends, what you want to do, learn or boast and stop learning, thinking you know all.
