New State Record Deer???

Post by 357 S&W » Wed Oct 06, 2010 9:42 pm

Friends,
I wanted to share these with you from one of my friends.....he writes......

The game warden was there and guessed the age to be 7-8 years? He said it should be a 38 point rack? I did not count.

This will probably be the new state record according to the warden. It will be pictured in Nebraska Land Magazine n December. The guy that shot it was in his mid 20s. A guy around 60 congratulated him and told him to cherish this because he has never seen anything like it in his years of hunting.

If you don't hunt you may know someone that would appreciate it.

In India the Barasingha (Swamp Deer) gets it's name from the 12 tines / points on it's antlers.
"Bara" as in twelve and "singha" as in "seengh" (antlers).

This is more than three times that { (3X12= 36) + 2}

ARHTEES SINGHA.
Amazing.

Must be the result of some genetical mutation!Nature does come up with surprises :!:

That is indeed a trophy, couple of years ago a buck was taken in southern ohio which was the non typical state record, last year a lady took a nontypical buck 30 miles north of my house which was one of the biggest trophies taken in ohio and there is a 14+ point buck that lives in my area app 4 miles south east of my residence and he is one of the smartest deer in this area, wonder if this year will be his?

14 + points.
No wonder he is the smartest.
Thats what makes trophy hunting more challenging .
The older the fellow , more chances of it being wiser.

P.S> The same can not be said for humans though.LOL.

ohio is known for producing amazing atypical trophies.

Though this is an impressive one, I wonder if he will make #1.

What was the weapon?

shotgun/muzzleloader/cross/or compound bow?

What scoring do you use? B&C?

What trophy/record book is used? SCI/B&C?
I doubt cic scoring method is popular in USA.

Most of the scoring In the U.S. is done either B&C or pope and young Points. If you want to get more details on the scoring system you can go to the safari club international site.
Just to give you an idea of the deer population in My area in Ohio,I can take 3 does and 1 buck and most of the accidents here in ohio are the result of deer.4 years ago while my wife was driving home from work a doe leapt over the car and actualy left hoof prints on the bonnet of the car,had she been a little faster the deer would propably gone through the windshield, thank god she was not.She was 7 months pregnant with our second child at the time.
