Yu do realize that 6.5L for a Beretta is a steal (Assuming its a 84) cos from what i am getting from the other posts they are selling for 8-12 lakhs.

That's about Rs 7000 /= .
If I ever bought one from the Indian market I would keep it in the Bank locker than ever use it. Thank God , I inherited my weapons and didn't have to buy any.

I inherited a few a as well in India, and I didnt get anything close to these prices when I sold them. Got less than a lakh for all of them combined, back in '03.

Why are imported guns so costly in India? Its about time Import restrictions are lifted. For approx $800 you can get the best handgun where as I had to pay Rs 80,000/- for a poorly finished IOF .22 revolver. This was purchased through a local arms dealer who billed me for Rs 41,000/- and the rest was for his kitty. The IOF officials should find a way to prevent such an overcharge by the local Arms dealers. I would also like to know if it is safe to use this particular model. I intend to use imported ammo.I will upgrade in a few years but will it at least stay in 1 piece until then (ie:-if not mishandled) Any tips on this are welcome as i'm new in this arena.

So if the government chrages 1000% import duty .. it would still be cheaper than the IOF stuff..
