Navi- after a couple of boxes of ammo and once you start breaking clays, you will know the 'donali' ka swad!;)
Start soon, and yes, next time I'm around, will come over for a round of shotgunning!

About two years ago I had to do a probate valuation of all the guns left in the estate of a titled gentleman - one of the most enjoyable days work I`ve ever had. There were several volumes of game logs kept from approximately the 1860s right up to the time in question. From those I was able to ascertain that a pair of Purdeys purchased new in 1896 had been used to shoot almost 1.6 million cartridges in a century of use. The guns were sent back to Purdeys for servicing at the end of each season - with all the bills still in existence. Nothing more than striker discs, strikers and mainsprings had been replaced and the guns had been rechequered a couple of times. The guns were in good servicable condition.....though obviously showing signs of wear.
Some of the logs from the 1890s up to WWI showed that in some weeks over 1000 cartridges had been used and the numbers of Pheasants shot quite staggering.
The guns are still in use by the great, great, grandson of the original owner.

Just thought I would try to get in touch with my feminine side. However,I have realised that the feminine side I would like to get in touch with ,is not my own  Warlock,sure.. sure...Am using the pitchfork to stir the pot.

Grumpy,

1.6 million cartridges(16,00,000 cartrdiges). Now that's serious use.I have heard that the estate duty/inheritance tax or what ever you call it, is so high that some people are forced to sell a part of their inheritance to pay for it.Is this true?

Death Duties in the past have certainly been very expensive penpusher but nowadays people ( and accountants ) are more geared-up to dealng with them.
