I have seen the under lever rifle from Jodhpur and it has terrible balance. Due to the under lever rod the center of gravity towards the muzzle which is far away from the wooden furniture. The wooden furniture is also very light weight and it further worsen the balance. I tends to shoot downwards/upward due to constant balancing needs.

Though, I must admit that the air rifle from Jodhpur is a fine piece of equipment and its beautiful. The price quoted at Universal Arms, Allahabad is Rs 6500.

Yes U R right. But i feel the unworthy rear adjustable sight also has added to the sighting problem. I've tried by sighting about 1-1.5 cm above the target/bull's eye and shots were good. But that's not going to give a perfect shot all the time. Perhaps remove the sights completely and if someone can suggest and help to mount a good scope on the rifle. Otherwise the rifle seems to be powerful to me compared to IHP .22.

Hi Guys,

See a nice discussion of M-300 which I am planning to buy soon. Interestingly, just today I visited J. Biswas & Co. (that is what people popularly know as Aimco here, but that is the actual name, owner Joy Biswas), had a nice chat with him and saw the baby's first visually. They are awesome, but to be frank I am a little confused about the various discussions and not able to draw up a good conclusion to buy the M-300.

Okay, somewhere I read that M-300 has a probability of loosing power over shots (as a common problem sighted in M-200), any of you facing any such problems. This can be best commented by IFG-ians who is using M-300 for quite a span of time now and know it in details. Also due to the center of gravity skewed towards the tip, is it that it does not always remains perfect on shots? Moreover, the latest price as of today for M-300 is Rs. 4500 (only Over the Counter delivery, shipping/packing charges extra).

Regarding my discussion with Joy, I asked for his expert review and Joy himself doesn't encourage M-300 quite much. He insists on IHP M-35 rather (which is a break-barrel) and also priced less than M-300. I do not have a problem going ahead with that, but read a post of our fellow that his M-35 is structurally imperfect as the barrel doesn't lock properly. Also I think break-barrel has an issue over accuracy and with constant use it may give up some problem regarding barrel-locking and ultimately accuracy.

Please enlighten me.

Whoa! I really hope the M300 doesnt come up with those problems! Just ordered for her some 4 days back, should be coming in by the 9th of September.
Will be great to receive feedback from somebody who's been using it for a while!

yes actually arjun, I was satisfied by the looks of the rifle over M-35, but to my surprise, Joy didn't promote it much rather than being expensive. He was insisting on M-35, for which I have now started developing a dislike after reading some threads.

Also please follow the thread of http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php ... 1&start=45 toknow more about M-300

Lakhs of IHP air rifles have been sold over the last three decades or so. Even if you put the best Quality Control in place, it is but natural that a few defective pieces will slip thru, or a few parts will fail ahead of time. If you are going to base your buying decision on few of the failures as against the scores of successes, then you would not be able to buy ANYTHING in the world!

Please bear in mind that understand one of the most important part of a rifle is the BARREL. And it is here that the IHP scores - the barrels are made on an imported Hammerli machine and you will hardly find anyone saying anything remotely bad about the accuracy. The rest of the gun is easily 'tunable'.

I just did a basic tune of my IHP and that thing is shooting like a dream! You should see the power to believe it! I will put up a detailed report shortly.

Thanks for the suggestion, BTW what do you think on the barrel becoming loose part as it has been observed as a crucial problem for some of the break-barrel rifles users. I understand that if I am lucky enough, it may not come within a year or so, but what if it shows up after that?

I am probably being over-protective, but I do prefer top quality things and just trying to figure out what's the best in Indian market, M-35 or M-300? Both has its pros and cons.

It will happen to the best of rifles.. (wear and tear) .. which is why the adjustable screw arrangement detailed in that post is given link - http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php ... 83#p110770. Its a ten min affair at best - you can adjust it yourself, or get any gunsmith to do it. When you wear the wedge out (which will happen too depending on use) you can replace that as well.

Lastly BOTH these guns are not what one would call 'TOP QUALITY' by far. They may be the best Indian make guns. The imported ones will cost you TEN times as much -At the Very Least!

Yeah correct, what I actually mean is Top Quality in Indian market, lets not compare the imported ones with them. It will be like ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL

Hello there! Received my 'M300' today. First impressions - It looks beautiful! Second impression -Damn! Its heavy!

Tested it for some time, the weather would really allow a lot of sessions! It was pretty accurate, once I got adjusted to its weight! The stock is heavy, wonder if I can do anything to aid that. Any suggestions are most welcome! :)

Have put up a few pictures on photobucket : http://s1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd4 ... aran/m300/
Please follow the link.

P.S. - I got it nice and greased! Had to use some hand sterilizer to get the muck off!

I thought I should add in a few pictures here, since I added a scope to the rifle. (4 x 20 Tasco). 'Sniper' helped me with the scope rail a earlier in the week - Thankyou!

Fired some 50 shots, its nice and sturdy. I am yet to properly 'sight' the scope though, maybe in another day or two :)
