I am sure that you have a thousand times better stuff to shove down the gullet. Nothing boss was trying to find something funny to say about you. Prolly insecure that you can shoot so well with a Russian Juggernaut. :)

Hi Jitu,

Actually at times I miss the trigger and the sheer independence of the Baikal 46m. And when I used it I could shoot reasonably tight groups with one. The only thing was that if i ever wanted to train by shooting a hundred pellets then the labour was too much.

I had been thinking of the Steyr for a while and finally moved to it after two baikals. The difference is that it is much easier to shoot well with a lighter pistol and something that doesn't need pumping. So one can rule out other errors and work on getting a better score.

You will easily shoot 360's with the Baikal 46 m, but it will take a little longer, till say you manage fifty one handed push ups hee hee ROTFL . No no please excuse my feeble attempt at humour. No Saar you will beat the best scores with your methodical hard work and dedication.

Regards,

Dev

Hi Jitu,

Most welcome sir jee. Hmmm here is the Russian version of laila-majnu...ruslan and ludmilla. The love and respect the baikal commands is pretty understandable, after all I had to go through two of them before finally un-gluing it from my paw.

I think our banter is keeping guruji from uploading the next lesson. So let's bow in anticipation for Shri HVJi's next set of golden words.

Regards,

Dev

Hello Sawbones,
1. If you feel the sights are not as clear as they should be, CANCEL, some people tend to hang around , hoping that it will clear, thus messing up their trigger timing and rhythm.
2. If you feel that the trigger rhythm, timing is not right, CANCEL.
3. If your grip doesnt feel right; CANCEL.
4. Anything which distracts you, from giving 100% on each and every step of the sequence of action (shot cycle), should be reason enough to cancel. This takes disciplining, but I am quite sure, that you will be able to inculcate this in your training methodology.
Best Regards

Not at all, on the contrary, I can guage your mental states- For instance Dev, you appear to be more confident in your technique. Whereas Jitu, though working hard is grappling with time management. Jitu, you appear to be slightly tense, this could be work pressure or something else, which comes in the way of giving your maximum attention to shooting.
I may be wrong, but relax, whatever time you get , if you focus fully (shot cycle) in the the little time available, you will find it more fulfilling. :D

Thank You Boss. I have just gotten over some two weeks of ill-health and so being able to sleep and eat well again is doing wonders. On the actual training front I am out of air and till I grab some from Olly's cylinder, I am left with dry firing and practicing trigger control while watching television. I don't know why I get the feeling that trigger control is making a lot of difference to my shooting. It's funny how you squeeze and can almost feel the springs going sproing as the sear engages and releases.

Your method of teaching trigger control to kids works perfectly for us nojawans too.

Jitu, Dev,
Could you tell me in detail ,regarding how much you have mastered the three shot cycle? In as much detail please, this includes problem areas and benefits.

I am still having problems with this as I try to go into a meditative state while shooting. So if I begin with the focused intent that I will use a three shot cycle then I manage to use it. On the whole I find it difficult to pause every three shots as it breaks my concentration. Often I try to find a rhythm while shooting, this normally works better for me with five shots. So I am going like raise pistol lower front sight into rear sight, let target blur, no thoughts, squeeze trigger straight back, follow thru, lower pistol, load and repeat. I do this like a drill or like a kata as Sawbones told me.One of my things is that I shoot fast during home practice, I almost shoot a pellet a minute. I was shocked when I timed myself last. I had finished shooting ten sighters and forty scoring shots in less than an hour. I haven't practiced much this week and I am still out of air. Hope I manage a match practice on Sunday. I am using a reebok power cord level four to add to my holding practice. What do you think about this innovation Guruji?

Regards,

Dev

hey hvj. i am also trying to keep the shooting to a three shot cycle. usually to be honest when the 'good feeling' comes i feel like continuing the shots to 4-5. but disciplining it to 3 shots tends to break the rhythm. but i am trying . some time it works and some time it just doesnt.
u r certainly right hvj in judging the work pressure. i was prettty distracted for some time due to some thing urgent going on. but it has passed. hope to get back to reg prac from today.
hey hvj, is there a certain score one needs to achieve before thinking of buying any thing up the echelon, like a morini/steyr. because that is certainly going to cost . so when should one go for that step

Dear Jitu and Dev,
The three shot cycle is for the novice, who basically shoots one shot and takes a break (changes grip), Its wonderful to see that you FEEL like continuing to 4,5 shots or even more. That is precisely what we want to achieve! To increase the shot cycle to as many shots as possible. There are some world class shooters, even a few top Indian shooters, who can shoot all 60 shots!
But this requires tremendous mental and physical stamina. In your case if you progress to 7,8, shots, that would be superb. Remember the objective of the shot cycle (however many shots) is to get into the meditative state/rhythm
Jitu, there is no such score, but the earlier you switch to a better pistol the quicker you will progress.
Regards
