Tiger 'hunt' anyone?

Post by shooter » Thu Aug 12, 2010 1:34 pm

Hi guys, came across this website while searching for safaris in Africa.

The thing to notice is that on their home page they talk about ethical fair chase hunting but when you go to their trophy gallery,

The first 2 pics one sees is the south american Jaguar and a Tiger.

Yes thats right a tiger!!

Yeah right! I have made posts in the past about Tiger 'hunts' in Spain and even the USA but this takes the whole bakery. Fair chase ethical!!

check it out for yourself:

And that also shot with a compound bow. Jeez wish the Tiger had a chance to give them a fair chase.

Since I don't know, I couldn't make a comment about how fair the "fair chase" is, I certainly wouldn't want to tackle a tiger on foot with any bow and arrow (longbow, recurve or compound).
Even though Rambo makes it look easy, shooting any bow and arrow accurately is not child's play. An expert shot with a compound might be able to hit a small target consistently at a 100 yards but will your average hunter be able to?
Unlike a rifle bullet, a broad-head kills by bleeding out an animal and not by shock. I sure wouldn't want to shoot an animal with the size and temperament of a tiger with an arrow and wait for it to bleed out. It takes big brass ones to go after dangerous game with a bow and arrow. You have to get close, very close, to be able to guarantee a sure hit in the vitals.

I love to hunt but I have never desired to hunt an animal just for a trophy.
However, for some countries it still helps pay the conservation bills and sneering at a practice that works (for them) it not very smart. At least they still have game in numbers large enough to allow hunting!
