Scope rail to mount on IHP and other local makes
Hi,
I went to a local mechanical works person to have a scope rail made on a model that i borrowed from a friend.
The approx cost will be around 900/- (amount not confirmed yet) a piece but the rate will fall considerably if more than 10 are produced and will continue to fall further.
what i would like to know is if anyone is willing to purchase a piece or two if they are available - say at around 800 and might be lowered to 500 if many orders are there.
So please send me a PM or let me know if you are interested by posting here - No advance required and if you are not interested later also no prb at all.
This is not a sale post - i am just seeing how many are interested to that i can order for that and then calculate the cost and post the actuals during a sale.
This is not a commercial venture - and i intend no profit from it other than getting the best value for my cash.
This rail is for mounting on any IHP or other gun that has no rail on it.
I will post detailed instructions for mounting it once i have experimented it on mine.

Hi Sniper,
> What material are you going to use to machine these rails?
> Recommend Air-Craft Aluminium for lightness & durability / strength - as MS may rust. You can have it black anodized.
> Remember to make provision for a 'Scope Stopper Notch' as there could be a possibility of scope shift due to back & forth recoil - peculiar to Air Rifles.
> Also take care to cut a centering mark on the front & back of the rail - this will help in aligning the scope properly.
> Lastly see that the holes drilled are counter-sunk to enable flush fitting of the screws.
Cheers

Re: Scope rail to mount on IHP and other local makes
Hi,
Ive attached the rail to the gun last night.
Here is what i did.
I have not used any screws etc. all i did is use some Araldite to the rail surface and fix it on the IHP.
This is a test i wanted to do to check the strength of Araldite, i let it set the whole night and today morning it looked good. ive mounted a winchester 3-9x32 scope and fired 5 shots. the rail hasnt flown off as i was told by many people and it is still holding.
I will experiment with around a pack of pellets with the scope mounted to check if it holds. if it fails then i will go for the drilling option.
i havent used any tools or anything else to align / mount the rail on the gun. it looked straight and fine and so i noted the spot and glued it.
Having said that, the rail itself is not perfect and i felt that there was a slight thickness on one side - but so far so good. i shall try n zero it this weekend - that will give a good idea of how it fares.
here are some pics.

P.S. - Regarding all those who PM me for more scope rails - Like i mentioned earlier the scope rail isnt perfect and needs improvement but im trying to see if with the present condition it is fine, also this isn't a business for me and i dont want it to get commercial. however i shall see if i can get one more batch of 10- 15 done as a FINAL project since many have approached me for the same.
