Webley & Scott Not Firing All Shots........... :(
I have a webley scott .32 revolver...whneva i try to shoot , it doest discharge all the shots, it fires 2 shots or just one and then keeps on missing the others. before i guessed that maybe there is a problem with the bullets, but i borrowed couple of imported ones from my fren but with same results, and the same bullets (mine and his) fire smoothly in his revolver all 6. i guess there is the problem with the hammer , trigger or the hammer spring. if im right or wrong please enlighten me.

If there is a problem with any parts (i.e-hammer ,trigger or hammer spring), can i get the faulty parts in india, if yes then where and what would be the cost.

1.It could be because the timing is out.If that is so, there would be drag marks on the cylinder. Are the strike marks on the cartridges that fire, centred?
2.Could be a weak spring as well.If that is so,there would be indentations on the percussion caps of the cartridges that fail to fire, but not very deep.
3.Or maybe all that the revolver needs is a good cleaning.Gunk in the mechanism can cause problems.
Re. gunsmiths in India, most know next to nothing about repairing firearms. They will bug*3r up the screw heads and spoil the firearm.Normal tapered screwdrivers, files and hammers are their tools of trade. Many a bespoke gun has fallen victim to their ministrations. They have been known to gas weld critical areas(Heat treatment? What is that?).Hammering (even lugs and breech face)and indiscriminately filing is common. You will be lucky if you get back your revolver in working condition.
PS-Next time, try to write in English

try what Winni said, as for spare parts, no chance in India.

whneva - Now that's plain 'Gangsta' eh but we 'aint' Westside Crips or an O.G from LA-Bloods.

This is what was being referred to, we all endeavor to stick to normal English. Lets keep it simple buddy and we all get along. Okay back to business now, just as the good folks here suggested.
1. Clean the gun first and then have a go.
2. Then get the spring checked if the problem persists.
If the spring is really old and worn down, which I presume it might be. Then you might have to scout for a piece (spring) within India, slim chance but you can try the gunsmiths listed in the forum. Something is better than nothing-Caveat Emptor though(buyer beware).

Tobler69,
Try searching the net for schematics of the Webley Mark IV revolver(I am assuming that it is a Mark IV as most .32 Webleys in India are). You may even find information on how to strip the revolver,if you are comfortable doing something like that.Just ensure that you have the proper tools for this.
Here you go http://www.marstar.ca/AssemblyWebley.htm
This is a good place to search for parts.Import of springs is legal.

Re: Webley & Scott Not Firing All Shots........... :(
These days there are very few webleys which have original condition and work flawlessly. Most of the revolvers are refurbished or re-done to their neck. All the gun dealers get the revolvers re-blued and present them as mint condition weapons and common people fall into their trap thinking as if they have got an original piece. My question for pooh. Have you ever tried to dismantle IOF .32 and tried any twist or tweak to smooth en the action, if yes do share ,because I will like to take tips and clues and practice them on my own IOF .32

At present I own their pistol so can't help you there. The atrocious trigger pull is what you need to work on.I believe 9.75 pounds is the bare minimum for reliable ignition.grewal wrote: My question for pooh.
