Re: Apply for your elephant hunting licence in Assam
Even non citizens may apply. and look at the list of game for hunting. leopard for rs. 100, bear for rs. 100. duck for rs. 5.
how does one get it?
It also says its for rouge animals.
How does one determine a rogue duck, rogue mynah, rogue magpie?

is it still valid/ Seeing it has been uploaded online, the document still existed as of the 21 century.

Re: Apply for your elephant hunting licence in Assam
The first part is for an Elephant Control Licence which was prevalent till early 80s.These licences were given to people who possessed a rifle which could chamber cartridges weighing 400 grains and above. These were issued mainly to control crop raiding elephants. For every tusker shot the hunter would require to shoot another two tuskless male to retain the tusks.
The second part is for elephant capture operations using mostly the Mela Shikar (Noosing )method. These licences were issued to Koonkie (trained elephant) owners almost every year till around 1999 to capture a pre-decided number of elephant to migitate Human Elephant Conflict in an area prone to crop raiding elephants.
I was the youngest Mahaldar on record to carry out elephant capture operation at the age of 26.

Re: Apply for your elephant hunting licence in Assam
Here's the catch "The Wildlife (Protection) (Assam)Rules, 1980."
Out dated..........
The Mela Shikar method you have mentioned "Nitro Express" is very practical for an animal like the Elephant which has a long life span..
Unlike a dog or a horse an elephant can live up to a hundred years . It is more economical to catch an adult wild elephant and train it , rather than raising one from childhood till he is old enough to work for you .

Consider yourself warned Now come on over here and help me unpack an armchair big game hunter's kit and compensate me for the fee I rustled up by breaking my piggybank.
Do you amateurs know how long it takes to pack my weapons? Especially my custom built purdy silver engraved magnum slingshot. The unbelievable power of my catty comes from the tension developed by its unique entwined strands of used condoms. No, the rubber comes with the slingshot, so none of your smart jibes. And yeah it comes at a tremedous price, since there are two aspects to it, one is collecting the ucs and the other is the technology for entwining it.
I also had to pack my morini .177 air pistol, Why? Dont ask stupid questions, the finishing off shot mate, the finishing off shot.
Anyway, I forgive you for your trespass as long as you realise the effort gone in packing, you are off course welcome to my house for nargisi dum biryani and beer.
Regards

thank you for your somewhat hasty and demanding response. i would like to state that you are the one who smashed your piggybank. so sue me if you dare. and as for your waringing i take that with biryani and beer, if your piggy bank can support it.
also try using filled condoms, best to practice while at home, try thowing one out of the window at the neibours window, if it sticks than you can hunt one horn rihno at the kazi rung her park.

Nope Tanveer, we dont like to take chances, we'll be using a thermal scoped M40 recoilless rifle. Elephants are serious business .tanveer bajwa wrote:you might need a double barell rifle that also a magnum
