You want more gun control? Use both hands!

Re: New poster for India
XL, I do have one, and it is still all torn down ;^(
My Kannada/Tamil friend is always asking when it will be done, and i always must give a sheepish, "Not yet." Mainly, it has been soaked with all sorts of oily gunk and then slathered with black paint. I have most of the paint off the metal parts, but not yet enough to start the refurbishing process, and I have not yet begun to address the stock.
I will get some pics up sometime, yes.
I really need to do something about it, because it is a major deal in my attempts to "convert" my friend. He's not at all adverse to guns and when I told him about the Asoka stamp on the buttstock socket, he immediately had to see -- I knew he was hooked! And why shouldn't he be?
Frankly, it's my opinion that 9/10s of the firearms made are superfluous. Guns exist in all of their diversity because we gun lovers have other reasons for wanting a particular gun, other than strictly rational and objective ones. My choices are certainly due to my opinions, of that you can be sure.
So what's wrong with my friend liking a gun made in India and used in Indian service? Not one single thing! That's more than reason enough for him to buy one (since it was reason enough for me, as well).
Anyhow, yes, I will get to it!
For many many years, I wanted a nice Smelly. But when I could have a Smelly and one from India and one in .308, why, who in their right mind wouldn't want one?!!!
Had they been available, I'm sure my friend Raja Raja Chola would have felt the very same way.

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

Nice one!!
With the momentum generated here I am sure that New Delhi sooner or later will have to address our concerns.

Re: New poster for India
Only way Delhi will listen is to have this nd other similar posters put up in jantar Mantar or outside the parlaiment library.
Wah wah and plaudits sound good here. So how about IFG members doing a little more?
print up these as postcards with the message in 3 languages-Indian Railway style
Each IFG member buys 10 and sends one each to
President of India
PM
Chief Justice of the Supreme court of India
MP/MLA/Councillor/corporator /MLA/ DC/Sp/police commissioner
10 rupees a card should be an affordable amount and cover printing and distribution costs?
So who's going to do it?
Its ok to have RTI and other hi fundoo legal stuff, but the common post card has had some major effect, having been used as everything-from habeas corpus to you name it!
for good measure, buy some extra and ask your neighbours to send one too
