What your 'Avatar' says about you..

What your 'Avatar' says about you..

Post by hvj1 » Mon Jul 12, 2010 3:02 pm

Hello IFGians,
I find some of the avatars used by my friends, very interesting. Each avatar holds some special significance to the user. So why not come forward and share your reasons for choosing your avatar. I'll begin with myself, its the ruger single six convertible with spare wmr magnum cylinder. For me it captures the spirit of the frontier, the wild west. From a very early age, I have read novels by Max Brand, Zane Grey, Oliver Strange and my all time favourite is Louis L'amour. Somewhere, deep inside, my spirit chimes in tune with the wild west themes, vast expanses, tall mountains, dense forests and the simple concept of justice, meted out by a code of ethics, enforced by the colt hung on the hip.
I find some avatars here to be extremely interesting. To me the best avatar is that of Surface to Air Missile, a magnificent leopard who blnks his blue eyes and flicks his ear.
So tell us about your avatar and the avatars of other IFGians that you find interesting.
Regards

I think it would be more in keeping with the subject of this thread, if others were to give their comments about what they think about other member's avatars - what say?

Hi hvj1

We seem to have an overlap for the reasons for choosing our respective Avatars - Zane Grey, Louis L'amour, Open Sky, Big Mountains and err... Justice.

My Avatar is Lucky Luke .. the wandering cowboy who ' draws faster than his shadow ' and fights Crime & Injustice. Not visible in the pic are Jolly Jumper ( my trusty steed ) and my 6-shooter .

PS : The fag in the mouth was very soon replaced by an innocuous but politically correct piece of STRAW !

My avatar? I'm too lazy to pick one?

HVJ1's avatar reflects his drooling lust for the single six. Mundaire's reminds me of 1941. I think Naga needs the shield to lay on the ground and drag around for how else is a guy going to carry a 105 mm howitzer round by himself? Doc's sensible answers always keep ignorance at bay. One could go on but when I try to put people's avatars into context, I see that I have come to know some of you a little and maybe made some new friends.
Thanks all
