I see some thoughts by the Chinese posters about the trustworthyness of their fellow Chinese. I see that echoed in this forum sometimes.
As in; we Indians can't be trusted with guns as we cannot control our tempers.
I think that is a fallacy. I would like to echo the sentiments of a poster on that thread (just replace the word "Chinese" with "Indian"). The emphasis is mine.
I don't know... seems to me there are a higher percentage of Americans who bark at the moon, than Chinese.China bans guns and aside from political reasons, it may be because the government has considered that there are too many neurotic people in China, people who will bark/howl for no reason.
Obvious in all these comments, the Chinese have no notion of the calming influence of firearms. When I first started concealed carry (and then open carry), I stopped letting myself be irritated by imagined or real slights from others. Of course there is no way the Chinese could know this.
I know a lot of Chinese, even married to one. If anything they are more calm than most folks. If they want to reduce moon-barking in China, all they need to do is arm them.
It's typical of all to blame the whole basket because of some bad apples.
