For those who dont understand it one off...

The .40 has a bad rap due to the Glock primarily. The chamber is unsupported, and leads to an asymetric bulge that does not get -resized correctly with traditional dies. This leads to the case being out of spec, and when reloaded tends to rupture when fired and results in a Kaboom.

But a fun cartoon none the less.

WOW! 100000 rounds of 40 Cal. You must be a very rich man buddy. I know that a box of 40 SW (50Rds) costs about $20. Thats about $40000 for firing 100000 rounds. But keeping in mind that you reload, I am assuming that the cost comes down reasonably, say 40%-50%.

Blajit, that would depend on what pistols you have. With the Glock in particular this is a known issue, which is why the likes of RCBS and Lee have produced bulge removing dies.

I personally know the Glock has this issue, as do some other manufacturers.

Ashar: The costs drop way more than 40-50% in most cases. For example if you're using cast bullets, and casting them yourself, a cartridge can cost well under 50 cents. While not comparing apples to apples, for my 8x60S a box of RWS ammo is about 96 Euros for twenty. I reload them for about 30 cents per cartridge (Excluding the cost of the dies and my time).

MoA, i have a Para Ordnance 1911 , also i have a Dillon Precision XL650 reloader [ maybe you know this reloader ] and i reload about 850 to 900 round in hrs. i am useing only FMJ bullets.


Asher, keep in mind i am shooting in IPSC so i need a lot's of practices , cost for round i have a friend he is delar for the bullets so i pay the dealer price about a $80 per 1000 bullets, now you know the cost for the round.

The 650 is a good unit. What pistols are you using?

Try Missouri Bullet Company cheaper and from what I have read about them very good to deal with. That is if you decide to switch to lead.

My fault.. didnt read the post completely.

I dont use a progressive since most of my shooting is rifle. Are you using an auto case feeder? If so what has your experience with it been? Also have you modded your unit?

Lucky man. I thought you must have been paying through your nose for shooting such high number of rounds. My attention is diverted more towards the white tail trophy rather than the reloading set up!

One final quesstion... how does the case feeder actually work? Is the setup a a pain?

MoA , this is the top view of the case feeder only i have to do is put case in and turn the power on whan the power on it start turn and drop the case in hole. setup is not a pain hahahahahahahaha

in this picture you can see that there is pipe going down whan turn the power on case come in to this pipe and going down to shall plate after that you know what we have to do.

Way cool. On it goes on my christmas list. Still cant justify it... but it will give me an excuse to buy a few pistols.
