Hi all.
I am very happy to see such a forum made and run by my fellow Indians.
Really nice work.
About me, i am a post grad computer science student of Anna univ, Chennai.
I strongly believe that guns provide protection for the common man.
And i am a fan of Abhijeet Singh.I read some of his articles on his website, and i instantly liked his thinking.
I recommend everyone to read "the parable of the sheep".(As a new member,i dont know whether i can submit any links,so just lookup "parable of sheep" on google.)
I dont have any guns,i am not planning to buy one in near future, but will surely buy one for the protection of my family/home,in future.
I am proud to be a part of this forum.
Thanks for the admins fr creating and maintianing this support group.

Bharath, welcome to IFG! Home defense is certainly a valid reason to own a gun, but may I suggest that, as you browse the posts here, you note the flavor and tone of them. You may find that there is quite a bit of personal enjoyment in shooting for fun, as well! For instance, the discipline and concentration required by shooting well, and the personal challenge of improving and excelling at shooting, can be quite fun and addictive. I am noting that we have some active members in the Chennai area, and perhaps picking up an air rifle and enjoying the fellowship of others while shooting would be something you find enjoyable!
Anyhow, whatever you do, welcome again and enjoy IFG!

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.
