same problem faced by most of us
1 cancel ur order, go for revolver waiting period 2 months
2 continue ur order, purchase any 2nd hand weapon (.22/.32), sell it after 1st renewal of ur license ( 1 year in most of states) and then go for NOC and new weapon
3 ask some arms dealer of ur city, they are expert in entering/ deleting of weapons in papers.

Get an extention on your purchase period on your license by showing them the letter you receive from IOF and go for it. That is how I did it.

This is the right way. Or you can buy a second hand IOF pistol from the open market. These were the options incase you like to have a pistol. Otherwise revolver is even better option than the pistol.
But cancelling the pistol booking means you will have to wait for your refund for a long long time. It is a possibility that your grand children might be the beneficiary of that refund :D

hi all
im really sorry grewal sb., but i must correct you.i cancelled my booking for iof pistol and got the cheque for the refunded amount in three months.i agree these iof people sells junk, they never recieve the calls,if recieve never talk sensibly or politely, never give correct informations, they are hopeless, but still they are very prompt at refunding the amount specially the guys dealing in pistol (gfk, kolkata), possible reason could be the long que outside their place waiting for their gun to be delivered.so these people dont care for the money.take care.

It's true they are not bothered about the cancellation, the money, the long queues and public frustration.

1. Beacuse people have no option
2. They are full up to their throat's from the order's of WMD  they get from defence
3. And moment of truth is - they really don't care about money from Civillian arms. If they did care about money they would be manufacturing their pistols possibly more than its in demand and may be they would be financing them on EMI's or putting them on special offer's ROTFL

P.S- I have booked my piece with GSF and the maturity date of my booking is 18 months.

Regards
Captain

HI GUYS,Jagadesh is right, there is a quota for THE CHAIRMAN of IOFB,if the proposed weapon is applied for in that quota/recommendation letter from the Chairman IOFB,the said weapon is released immediately from either of the factories.Guys lets all get realistic ,it would be impossible to think that the Executive/Politicians wont want a piece of action for thie cronies for something which has a waiting peroid of 18/3 months,Pistol/revolver, hence the IOFBs chairmans quota,to be exercised through MOS Defence and gang.
