Hello shooters

Post by reynoldmaben » Wed May 26, 2010 3:25 pm

Dear Friends,

Good day to all of you. My name is Reynold Maben a resident of Bangalore since birth. Currently employed with a German Logistics provider as Business Development Manager.

Very accidentally came across IFG.com, while I was searching for something else (dont even remember what I was looking for, as IFG forum drew my attention so much). Ever since I have been hooked on to the site and read a couple of intreasting write up of experts and was impressed by the modesty of senior members. Well I registered myself on the site a couple of days ago but this is my first post here. Was a little hesitant on posting anything initally until I fimilarised on the rules of the forum first.

Well this site was intreasting to me because, even as a little boy I was always fasinated towards guns (includes everything that fires bullets). As a school student, I had enrolled with the NCC under the directorate of air wing Karnataka and Goa and was an active cadet for 2 years. This is where I got my first opportunity to fire a rifle at the TB2 firing range and various other firing range and that was it..never ever got an opportunity to fire again, until 4 yrs back when I was working in Dubai, I came across a shooting club which was near Sharjah Airport road. I frequently visited this club and tried my hand on .22 revolver and .6mm semi auto pistol (dont remember if this spec is correct). It was very simple to fire at this club, you just had to pay AED 50 for 25 rounds of .22 revolver and AED 80 for .6mm pistol 25 rounds. These prices were effective then. its been 3 yrs now since I've left Dubai.

Through IFG got to know that we have shooting club in Bangalore as well. Have visited the K.S.R.A. website and gone through the requirements for membership. I am yet to approach Mr. Krishna B.M.G for membership requirements. But I know for sure it would'nt be as easy as it appears on the website. However I will give it a try. I also have various other doubts regarding this which I will clarify in the appropriate forum.

Well, thats all about me, I want to take shooting hobby enthusistacally and gradually develop it as a sport and i'm very sure that I will have all the assistance and support from all senior members out here.

Forgot to mention, I am also an aquarist and carry intreast in fish keeping and aquascaping (freshwater), have been in this hobby actively for close to 4 years now.

Have a great day.

Reynold Maben

Welcome to IFG, Reynold.

Regards
Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

Hi reynold sorry for the late reply.
You want more gun control? Use both hands!
