Dear friends,
I pocess one all India arm license which expired in Dec 2009.The district authority issued the state validity license and later the home dept extended it to all India.I have given it for renewal in Dec 2009 itself and now the district authority says that it has to go through the state home dept to get it renewed.
My question is that the state home dept didnt issue the license, instead it only extended the places of using that. The original issuer is district authority and if they renew a license,it automatically applies the home dept order.
Any comment on this please do write.
Regards
Gopal

Re: All India License renewal
If going by the old policy, you are correct in that the District Authority renews the license and so the All India Validity stands renewed too, so far this has been the way my license has been renewed(from 1997-present).
On the other hand if the new policy (2010)is being implemented, then the renewal of the All India Validity must be done at the Home Secretary level each time the license comes up for renewal . That means the district authorities can only renew for the district only. So now the question would be why even have it renewed at the District level at all unless you don't mind keeping the license only renewed for the district level. Meaning, have the license renewed each time at by the Home Secretary who is a higher authority.

Anand
