Is it legal to import a crossbow?

Post by Brian » Sat May 08, 2010 3:40 pm

I want to import a crossbow to India. The company selling it says its legal but I am having difficulty finding evidence of this to confirm it. Apparently it gets sent as 'Sports Goods - Archery'.

All advice will be most appreciated.
Thanks,
Brian

It is legal to import and possess crossbows, since legally there is no difference between a bow and crossbow and as per objectives of Arms Act 1959, bows and arrows are not arms, therefore excluded from Arms Act.
