Re: New Policy On Arms issued / implementation
Nothing surprising. So we are all doomed in other words. If we had spent all that time and money getting our licenses and also getting them converted to AIV is all a waste.
I think its all abt talking here and not doing anything. Not seen any action also .
Anyways we can only sit and crib as we have nothing better to do.
Take care.

Re: New Policy On Arms issued / implementation
Its time for all of us here in this country to get our heads together and make a couple of much needed changes, we need an active and aggressive firearms lobby, most of the newer licencees (if they by some miracle do get legit licences) will not be drastically affected by the amendment, its the true enthusiasts and gun nuts like all of us here who are getting the short end of the stick. If this amendment is open to challenge, then it must be so. We have to start asserting our fundamental rights, we have to let these clowns running the country know that we're not a bunch of blood-thirsty hicks wielding guns, we have to educate folks all over the country on safe gun control and how they are the most efficient deterrent in a life-threatening situation, generate interest which will help people who've never even stood next to or handled a firearm wake up and see what their government is crippling them with, topple vote banks, create favoring laws, make the people who've come up with and implemented these knee-jerk rules crap their pants...when they realise they've got an indestructible firearms lobby to contend with, the time to act is now.....or all the love for firearms, the reason you all are here, the enthusiasm you developed or were born with, will slowly die....and I'm not gonna stand around and watch that happen.....

OK amigos the Babus have prevailed.so now they encroaching on fundamental rights. How about this ridiculous rule that folks are required to keep a record when and where the ammo was expanded..why only 30 cartridges for heirloom guns? This is something ghost written by Antis basically MP/MLA/officers are privileged class excluding the armed forces who are always included for window dressing..
as member pointed out these rules are incentive to black market...Well I need to get the OCI card..

Will these new laws stand in court? Is there a case for us to pool our resources and engage a high profile lawyer for a high profile case?

Re: New Policy On Arms issued / implementation
As per my understanding no new "law" has been passed, it seems to be a mere notification given, using practically unlimited powers to do anything by using the power of issuing notifications, derived from Arms Act 1959. Challenging these notifications will not serve any practical purpose. Get one notification declared illegal by court today, get another notification issued by government tomorrow. It will be just like treating the symptoms of a disease rather than treating root cause of disease. In my opinion Arms Act itself needs to be challenged in court as legislature has given unlimited powers to the executive resulting in violation of fundamental rights of people. Will these new laws stand in court?
Admin of IFG need to take a decision. I am wondering what is going on with NAGRI?Is there a case for us to pool our resources
High profile lawyer does not necessarily translate into winning of case. As per my opinion any wise, experienced and clever lawyer should be fine.and engage a high profile lawyer for a high profile case?

Re: New Policy On Arms issued / implementation
Now,
I propose a close door meeting of all NAGRI members, and finalise a council, who will file an RTI to the govt, MHA, Licencing, and ask to give details of all illegal acts like this amendments, uptill date what they have done, and proceed with a fresh PIL case in the Delhi High Court.........now let the case begin under NAGRI, or what ever Abhijeet (Mundire), says since he is the coordinator............& lets start this.....
))))cheers!!!

Re: New Policy On Arms issued / implementation
I agree with Amit's suggestions....
All lawyer members of IFG who can contribute their intelligence to counter these offensive rules can pool in with their suggestions. Amit has already proposed a Lawyer in Delhi who can take up the cases in court after due deliberations with learned members like Abhijeet, penpusher et al.
It's time to make a beginning. Ofcourse fighting for gun rights under a Organisation (read NAGRI etc.) will have much more weight compared to an individual taking up the fight. The results of the confrontation between Mr. Lalit Modi and the Hon'ble Minister of State for External Affairs (read Govt.), is there for all to see...

Ah yes.India will be a much safer place. As it is citizens do not need to take the law into their own hands by confronting criminals which is the exclusive domain of the police. The police is there to investigate the crime and the courts to punish any criminal activity.
I am sure the victim and her family are happy at the promptness of police action and we should all take heart from this.

http://www.indianexpress.com/news/on-pi ... ed/608229/On pilgrimage, govt official gangraped in Beed
Four history-sheeters allegedly robbed and gangraped a government official working in the city at a farmland in Dhanora village on the Beed-Ahmednagar Road a week ago. The incident, which occurred on April 11 when the woman was returning from a pilgrimage with her family, came to light when the victim lodged a complaint of rape at Ambore police station in Beed on Thursday.
The Ahmednagar police had arrested the four suspects — Deepak Jawale, Sunil Yekhande, Vijay Bade and Abhay Pore — on April 12 itself. Beed SP Ravindra Sengaonkar told Newsline on Sunday that the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) would be invoked against them. “All the four are dangerous criminals and have committed serious crimes in the past.”
According to police, the 35-year-old victim works with a government establishment in Pune. She had gone to Parali temple in Beed with her family and was returning home in a car with her husband and son. The suspects blocked their way at a spot near the Beed-Ahmednagar border. They drove the woman to Dhanora after forcibly getting her husband and son out of the car. They threatened to kill the woman when she tried to resist. They took her to a farm in Dhanora, where they gangraped her. They left her in the farm and fled towards Ahmednagar. A farmer who found her in the morning had helped her to contact her husband. The victim then lodged a complaint of dacoity and car theft at the Ambore police station.

Re: New Policy On Arms issued / implementation
hi friends,
the root cause of the present problem are not the babus but the hon'ble minister himself.
he has some kind personal vendetta against the gun loving lobby.if we go back in time
the ban on import of guns as well as downsizing the no. of guns from 10 to present no.
(3). were all his doing as he was the minister of state for home affairs in 1986.the
only solution to the present problem is knock on court's doors as already discussed by the
fellow members. but remember friends we r fighting sumbody who is hell bent on taking
away our arms which is our FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT.
regards.
P.S- tell ur friends & family not to vote for him in the nxt general elections.

Re: New Policy On Arms issued / implementation
The question is "WHO WILL BELL THE CAT". Getting license is tough for ordinary citizens, now the law is made tougher for even those who own licenses. Battle which was earlier far has come to the doorstep. Imminent threat one of the conditions to obtain license.... rules for politicians and gov officals relaxed in a way... rest are left to the mercy of GOD......... What will happen to Atheists

Hi Guys,
I was going through the Home ministry website where the notification was published. There is a policy notification regarding manufacture of sports weapons by private companies. Any thoughts in this regard?
