Hi
You wont be able to get an air gun with cal > .22
Here is the site for IHP national air guns http://www.indianhumepipe.com/rifle1.html where a spring action is given to be 35 m.

You can contact thre head office (and I think there factory is in Ahmedabad) where you can get contact details of there factory.

hope it helps.

Gaurav

How do you define range ?
Will the pellet go to 100 m probably every gun will fire pellet to 100 m.
Will it be accurate to 100 m I would doubt.

What do want to do with 100m range ? Even competetion is done usually at 10 m range. I think there is only one event done at 50 m.

I have no exp with the site you have said. I dont know if they will be accurate to a 100m range specificaly with .22 cal

> In absolute ballistic terms range means 'the effective kill range' and not the ultimate distance the pellet travels.
> In all air rifles with 800fps the effective range is around 25 to 30 mtrs (75 to 100 ft max) - will differ if its for plain plinking / target shooting or pest control
> Effective range also depends upon the wt of the pellet.
> Manufacturers claim various fps & effective range - this depends upon the wt & type of the pellet used to arrive at these figures.
> But again the figures will vary between spring Action & Gas / Pneumatic operated air rifles.

Pellet design will have more of an effect on range than the "power" of the air rifle. Now, whether you will be actually able to hit something at that range is a different matter, the accuracy of the air rifle being a more important factor than the velocity IMHO.

To answer your question, as a member pointed above, the average range of a usual indian air gun is 30-35 metres.

if you want to shoot 100m , i suggest you apply for a license if you don't already have one, and buy a centrefire rifle

IHP is standardised, reputed, and reliable.

In my opinion the IHP 35 in .177 cal will give you the best range and tragectory amongst all indian air rifles

I had chronoed one and it was giving 900 fps
Thats pretty good

The rest of the choice depends on your application of the indian air guns this is the best in all aspects

Harsh_dadati,

To my experience, IHP manufacturers quality Air Rifles/Pistols both, break barrel and CO2. now they have come out with compressed Air too. IHP factory is located in Vatva, Ahmedabad. Land line number is 079-25830221, contact person Mr. Makhija, suggest visit their factory, have a look to all those stuffs, then decide.

Enjoy.

Regards,

Jashwantsinh.

I think someone with a chronograph would kindly check out the speed of ihp, cannon and other Indian models and post it here...my airgun will hit my gate 45-50 meters away in about 2-3 sec.Sucks right
