Re: Amico M300 Under lever
Sorry friends, yesterday (Sunday) I was not able to test my M300. I was busy polishing and refurbishing the swords I have. Guys I have a pair of original katana Samurai swords with me as an anchestral possesion. It was a great sunday spending time with these two beauties.
My M300 test will be published the moment I test it.
Raptor, were you able to check for the grooves of your M300. I dont understand how should i check it.

Hello to all
Could some one provide information on Mastershot pellets (export quality only). Since i have read some posts on their quality and as I'm thinking of M300, whether these will work well with M300. Where in Delhi can I get them ?

Master shot pellets are very good in indian brands. Which callibre you are looking for? I am not aware of 0.177 but regarding .22... flat head wadcutter and export quality round head are my choice. I think Master shot pellets are easily available anywhere, else you can check on master shot web site. I am yet to test but when i shot some 10-15 pellets through M300 i think Master shot export quality round head will work fine with M300 considering M300's loading facility and fit of the pellet in M300.
Thanks

Thanks Amol
Yeah, I meant MasterShot (.22 Wadcutters and Round heads - export). You mean they can be procured from any Gun dealer in Delhi. If so thanks again for the quick response.

Re: Amico M300 Under lever
Hello Friends,
Today I found some time to try my hands on my new M300 and tried to zero it. The pellets which I had were Master Shot hunt, Master shot round Head export, Gamo, G Smith flat head. And The distance I used for zeroing was 20 meters . Here are my results which I want to share:
1) The gun had enough power to pass through a tin box and the pellet was trapped inside. Tin box used was 6 inch tall round shaped, generally used for an insecticide.
2) When fired on a scaled, bulls eye target, it showed a grouping of 1.5 inches.
3) But the grouping was different for different pellets and it varied a lot. 8 inches in my case.
4) The sight is not of good quality and it was very difficult to zero the gun even after keeping one fixed pellets. If you try to set the elevation, the windage also got changed and vise versa. Finally I have removed the rear sight from gun to check for its fittings and found it to be of low quality. I think I have to fit a IHP sight to this gun, which thankfully I thing will match.
I will write back to you after I fit a new or worked rear sight on this gun and test it again.
At least I was satisfied with the power the gun has and also the grouping.
Thanks
Amol

Where are you aiming at? Will it be 1ft high or below than the target before pulling the trigger? I am sure you cannot hit the object if you are aiming at it with the kind of trigger it has.amolpisal wrote:Hello Friends,

Re: Amico M300 Under lever
Hello Friends,
Hey I removed the rear sight of my Aimco 300 and cleaned and refitted it with tight fitting and no plays. But still guys I am not able to zero it. Some how I was able to pass light through the barrel and check the grooves... I found out that the grooves are not so deep, may be that I am not able to see them properly as the barrel was not at all clean. I think I have to clean it with brass brush first and check it again.
One more problem I want to discuss with you, may be Tirths can give me a explaination for this.... When I shot pellets on paper target, it was hitting sideways on the target. I have attached a image to explain what is happening actually. Hope someone can guid me the reason for it and a remedy also.
Thanks
Amol

Dear sir,
Grouping will change for different pellets hence we advise shooters to stick to one particular type of pellets. If you use flat head pellets that should give you the desired results as shown in the diagram.

Hello Sir,
Its been one month now that I have purchased my Aimco M300, but still I am not able to zero it. The grouping is also wide and changes drastically for different different pellet types. Also the pellet is hitting the target side wise and not head on. I have attached a diagram to explain it. I tried to have a look at the grooves and found it very very shallow. This is the main culprit for no accuracy of the gun. I hope you had tested the gun before dispatch. My other gun Aimco m75 has good depth grooves and the gun has very good accuracy. Will you please provide me following data for M300..1) no of grooves. 2) twist rate. 3) Groove depth ( (OD-ID)/2)..
Please provide me with some clarification as I am not at all happy with the gun's accuracy. The power of the gun is excellent, and also the range. We are also discussing this issue on forum Indiansforguns.com, you can check it out

Re: Amico M300 Under lever
Amol, sometime back you have told us that you are getting a group of 1.5" and later you told you failed to do zeoring. If you can group that means you are successful with zeroing isn't it?
You have also told us about the huge power now it is hitting by a 90degree turn (usually by lack of power). What went wrong? Have you cocked the gun for a long time or the heavy leakage of air from pellet insert point?
If the gun is from gimmy factory (re-branded by amico) then rest assured the rifling is good. Could you please tell us which all pellets giving this 90d turn result also are you getting more piston hitting sound then before?
