and I was digging the net for the last one hour thinking this was a muzzle loader made by the Konyak tribes.

Goodness, I was thinking it was some radio antenna for picking up stations from far far lands..... :D

I know what it is....... some one designed a muzzle loader, realized half way through charging powder that he had forgotten to design the firing mechanism. 8) 8) 8)

British MK X No 2 Fencing Musket from 1915. Produced by Webley & Scott Ltd simulating the SMLE rifle with long pattern plunger bayonet, it is intended for the safe instruction of bayonet fighting. This is a purpose built pre-WW1 training aid with polished wooden butt and forend, tubular steel body and spring-loaded long plunger with button end.

i, once upon a time practised bayonet fighting using this baby in my younger days. it just takes your breath away. :(

yes even with padded jacket and mask one did feel a little out of breath, if you did not get hit by one end you got hit by the other. :D

Very interesting topic,Nags.

Back in the NCC days, I was in the Bayonet Fight team too.Did with the real ones against the stuffed dummy and then with scabbarded ones against the instructor.
