I know what it is....... some one designed a muzzle loader, realized half way through charging powder that he had forgotten to design the firing mechanism.

This is a purpose built pre-WW1 training aid with polished wooden butt and forend, tubular steel body and spring-loaded long plunger with button end.

i, once upon a time practised bayonet fighting using this baby in my younger days. it just takes your breath away.

yes even with padded jacket and mask one did feel a little out of breath, if you did not get hit by one end you got hit by the other.

Back in the NCC days, I was in the Bayonet Fight team too.Did with the real ones against the stuffed dummy and then with scabbarded ones against the instructor.
