Benjamin is available with handpump & that is a most economical way to have a constant supply of high pressure air till you find a filling facility nearby you. I am also planning to order the same model in near future.

Hmmm, no one's bought one from these guys then? Small wonder as it seems like these things retail for ~ € 2,000/- in Europe... (1 € ~ INR 67). I'd imagine they'd be priced at least 30% more in India... doable for rifle associations/ shooting clubs, but a tad expensive for most individual air-gunners here!

Cheers!

mundaire you are absolutely right. I wonder if we IFGians form a local groups just like bikers then it should be viable for us to have one at different locations & we also may be instrumental in increasing the popularity of airgunning sport. Because there is much more than 10 meter shooting. Silhoute, plinking, biathlons, rapid shooting, paintballs. It is just more & more interesting. Hope it begins & I would like to take a first step. Very soon i will start a new topic.
Anybody intersted taking that first step , Pls PM me.

Capability of Good Old Bycycle Pump

Post by karizman » Tue Jul 01, 2008 12:26 pm

shahid";p="46057 wrote:PCP has just arived in GUn Shops here. The compression means being sold with it is good old Bicycle pump, a very tedious process.

However the Bushranger Max Air compressor we use to inflate our tyres after desert trips should do yeoman service on pcp air rifles as well.

It delivers 70 litres of air per minute. In 30 minutes it will fill a 2 litre air tank to 140 Bar and it 45 minutes to 210 Bar.

Price from Ace Hardware is Dhs. 499 but this will be cheaper on Web shopiing.

In our case it inflates a 275/70/R 16 tyre from 12 psi to 30 psi in 90 seconds flat.
Please visit to the link provided to see attached pdf file & understand what a Good Old Bycycle Pump is capable of & how easy it is to use. I would love to share vast info regarding PCP & other airweapons with true knowledge seekers but with Know All ?????????????

The link to the pdf file is: HandPump for PCP
The technology has become so advanced that now there is PCP rifle available on market which can soot 5 full power shots of pellet weighing 225 grains at muzzle energy of 192 foot/pounds. Be noted that even our .22LR shoots 40 grain bullet at 191 foot/pounds. amazing isn't it.

I spoke to them & it costs 2,35,000/- onwards without accessories. I don't think an individual can afford to have one.

Hills hand pumps are the best option for us airgunners.

Dear Karizman,

I would like to know, what facilities or services are available for maintaining and refilling of PCPs in Bangalore, since I am serious about getting myself one.

@Rajesh, i own an IHP PCP, and use a scuba tank to refill my gun. The tank will cost you below 5000 including shipping and comes filled for first time use.

Per fill i guess you may get 30-40 odd gun refills, i am yet to exhaust my first tank so cannot tell for certain.

Once you exhaust the air in the scuba tank, you can go to any nearby fire station and ask them to refill, should cost you about 300 bux for that.

@nash Most ppl with a scuba tank get it filled from the fire station only, if they refuse you can go to any dealer who deals with industrial gas(ask your neighborhood soda wala) and ask him to fill zero air.

@rpuri I got the cylinder from Mr Chandrakant Shah(Shankar helped me with the contact). PM me your contact details and we can have a chat and ill pass on his details.
