Post by singh_hp » Mon Dec 21, 2009 7:30 pm

My friend has two rifles :
1) .30 06 BSA Williams in good condition
2) .30 06 Parker hale Midland in brand new condition

Can some one help by telling us what should be the expected price of the rifles.

Thank you

Hi jaz there is a Midland for sale in Chd its with a dealer he was asking for 3.50 Lacs for it,as far as the Steyr goes bro, noone gonna sell it for less then 10.I know of someone who picked up a SAKO {Tikka} near Bombay, feather weight model for 14.75.Steyr the Mannlicer ones are not gonna be less then 10 atleast.parker hales and midland are sought after weapons in India cause the ban on import otherwise a remington 700 ADL or even a winchester 35 are much better rifles then BSA or Parker Hale

4 lacs for a Midland or BSA ?
You ought to come over to the UK to discover what they are worth - three or four hundred UK£s at MOST - and that`s for minters.
Go on Vickers - you tell `em. ( We`ve seen them sold at auction for as low as £80. )
Somebody`s going to tell me off for commenting on gun prices now ( aren`t they Mack The Knife ? LOL. )

Grumpy and I have witnessed quite a few BSA,Midland,Parker-Hale etc, rifles in VERY good condition going for less than a 100 quid in auctions in UK. Breaks your heart to see that when you compare the prices in India and what we can get for the price we pay.

Telling you off, only if the RSM spots you doing that in the sales section.

The price I guess is what the market will sustain. Which in this case seems to be somewhere between waay too much and seriously ludicorous.
