A good article on Long Range Rifle Shooting: http://demigodllc.com/articles/practica ... equipment/
There are three articles, so suggest going through them in order.

Long Range Rifle Shooting
Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

Re: Long Range Rifle Shooting
Zak is a great guy. He runs a number of comps in the US, and is actually an excellent shot. He is always willing help people out, and personally he has helped me out trouble shoot a few rifles and techniques.
I would take his articles as gospel.
I do have a lot of respect for him.
