PELLETS BY G.SMITH AND COMPANY (PUNE)

Post by farhan.lateefi » Sat Dec 05, 2009 9:13 pm

Hi Everyone,

I just bought .22 pellets manufactured by G.Smith & Co. I am totally surprised by the quality and feel of these pellets more so because they are made in India!! I got two boxes of 200 each for INR 175 only. one box of Steel Head and one High Split.(High Split looks more like gamo expanders!!!)
i was using Gamo and Diana pellets before and by the look of these Indian pellets i can easily compare them with gamo or diana.(I mean the Look and feel)

Results??
i will try them tomorrow .....and i will try and post some pics too..

I got them from Royal Armory in Hyderabad. The owner Mr Ateeq being my friend recommended these pellets as he visited the factory in Pune and was impressed with the set up.It seems everything is imported and the guys were telling him to watch out for some amazing products to come.

now the only glitch is not mentioning how many grains the pellet weighs... the package says in 4 different languages "200 Diabolo Pellets for rifles and pistols" and the caliber.. i wonder why they missed out this important thing...

anyway i will try them out tomorrow and give you guyz the grouping and some pics too..

Cheers
farhan

ALL the very best to you, you will find interesting results probably not in the very first batch, but in later ones.

Dear Farhan
Could you kindly shoot a few groups (5 shots) with a bench rest or a vice would be ideal but not essential. If you could shoot the groups at 20 m would be great.Does the group remain consistent or are there fliers?

Read somewhere in this forum that G Smith pellets when washed and dried were better. Don’t know why but might be worth checking it out.

hi,
if you wanted to know wt in grains for all gsmith pellets except the ball mounted high splits, but they vary in different batchs.this was done in the past here's the link-
http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php ... 164#p28164

or read this,
measured each of them, the data you wanted are in grams..
from left to right in .22-
high split-1.260gm (19.44 grains)
high speed-1.390gm (21.45 grains)
high force-1.200gm (18.52 grains)
high impact-1.230gm (18.98 grains)
.177-
P10-0.530miligram (8.179 grains)
tieup-unavailable

the high speed was the heaviest and the high force was the lightest and all were at an average wt out of 3 pellets randomly selected from a box of 100,and the difference between them were +-0.5mgs.
So it seems its way beyond 16 grains u assumed, they are mostly in the range of 19-21 grains for the .22s,now
lets get the rifle thru the test.
regards sanjiv
