Congrats Sudesh ,

How about a performance report of the new rifle now ? I handled one in Patiala a week back and I was kinda surprised by its light weight .

Correct me if I am wrong here gentlemen, but I feel that the weight of all the metalwork in a 30.06 IOF is lighter than that of .22LR IOF.

Oh and did you load it and get on your SUV ? :D ...............( लोड करके राईफल, जब जीप पे सवार होते...)

best,

Congrats Sudesh.

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

Welcome to the club, Sudesh! Now slap a scope on and take it to the range, remember to break-in your barrel properly, I did that routine for mine and it makes cleaning the tube a breeze, also get yourself a .30 cal Boresnake, its the best thing since sliced bread!
"With solid bullets on heavy animals such as elephant, rhino and buffalo this power is quite apparent but is not so obvious as when soft-nose bullets are being used, say, lion, particularly when is a case of stopping a charge : the .404 will stop him all right, but will seldom crumple him quite so completely as will the .416" -- John Taylor, Big Game and Big Game Rifles, (Ch. IX)
