A letter from your Air Rifle Club on their letter head that certifies that you (with your address and membership number mentioned) are a current member. Some letters even mention that they are affiliated to the respective State/District Rifle association.

As an example of overcoming adversity, Karoly Takacs has few peers. He was part of Hungary’s world champion pistol-shooting team in 1938, when an army grenade exploded, crippling his right hand. Ten years later, having taught himself to shoot with his left, he won two gold medals in the rapid-fire class.

All,

After a welcome lull in my Bharat Darshan I got to work on the D34P today.
The insides were BONE DRY. Not a trace of lube on the main spring and inside. The seal was also damaged.
Replaced the Diana main spring with a JM XLR2 spring and used moly to lube piston, guide and spring. Silicon oil on the replacement Diana seal.
Had some trouble with the trigger safety and SOME REALLY FRUSTRATING TIME with the barrel barrel pivot sleeve alignment.
Managed to put it all back together and the firing cycle is now much smoother though not as smooth as I would like. Guesss I am spoiled by my Modified IHP35 and the D24.
Its also now a shade easier to break it open and the cocking effort has reduced slightly.

Great learning experience.

Now back to Bharat Darshan........

Got a Jim Maccari Diana 34 tune kit and installed it today.
Now the Panther has no twang, no vibration, just a thunk.

Post which, five shot group by the better half at 10mtrs on a pistol target

Image

All three of us are able to do this all day long.

Have been desperate to see what she will do at 25yds, which I will tomorrow.

Amazing what a tune kit does to a stock springer. From wild and unruly to tame and well behaved, to the point of being predictable like a PCP.

Me very happy.

It would be extremely foolish to assume that a desi tunekit /mod would be equal to a JM/Venom/Air Venturi tune kit.
Not withstanding my exclusive mods to the IHP35.

for the benefit of all the others...3LUBE mantra for a smooth, twang free, vibration free Diana Airgun...

1. JM black heavy tar on the OD of the spring...fine coat only

2. JM graphite moly paste on the back of the custom spring guide steel washer (coat only), face and sides of the custom tophat (coat only), ends of spring (a little more), on side of custom JM Apex/Tesla seal (just make sure that the OD of the seal is in line with the OD of the compression tube, again only a coating would do), on piston thrust bearings (coat only), between the sliding and locking plates of the trigger (a little more), on ball detent of breech (a little more), on cocking shoe (generous amount here)...

3. JM clear tar on the OD of the custom spring guide (coat only) and a little smear on the inside of it...on barrel pivot bolt and sleeve (inside-outside, coat only), outside of pivot recess washer(a little more), barrel hinge (generous here)....

Fantum...if ive' missed anything....please let us know...

PKJ

I don't know.....Got the heavy tar in the kit and used that...and some silicon oil that I have on the piston seal.
I would agree that at JM's level tuning springers is fine mix of art and science. I have'nt gotten there yet.

She is able to shoot holes in holes with GSmith High Impacts at 25yds. I managed to do that twice. Will have to spend more time shooting her to call myself a good shot with her. I must add that she is more well behaved now.

I discovered that my Leapers droop compensating mount was working overtime and I actually had to move the scope objective up by shimming the forward ring so I could zero her at 25yds.

Well you know what....just like a new spouse, we must go along to get along.......

Fantum.....black tar ONLY on the OD of the spring....high flashpoint (OKS 1038) silicone oil on seal is okay, but it ''MAY'' dry out soon....
strip the gun again otherwise and do exactly as i have explained earlier, only that, for points 2 and 3, 60% moly paste will do if you do not have the correct JM lubes...you may have to order JM piston spacers after 500 odd shots, because the JM spring will shorten by then, you will lose some power because of reduced pre load...

any way JM is all about smooth, great shooting guns...most of his products only guarantee moderate to high power with exceptions such as the Diana 350 Magnum EZ350M which is a full OEM power spring....

take care...
