Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

Currahee Cross Hair
that one would be perhaps my choice from the whole benchUsing many of the techniques and materials used in their small arms production, Microtech’s already solid Currahee Cross Hair fixed-blade knives have been reborn in the new factory. The Cross Hair is a deadly tool suitable for anything an overseas contingency operation can throw at them.

Re: modern knives
Great post, Subal. You certainly know your knives. After having a look at the Currahee, I am desiring one. I am also thinking about the RC Izula. I have enough folders to last me this lifetime. It's fixed blades now. Let's see what happens.

Re: modern knives
one more of same line .. a bit smaller
TOPS Baghdad Bullet
6 1/4" overall. blade 2 7/8" (OK size to carry in India in city limits) gray finish 1095 carbon steel. Full tang. Blue and black G-10 handles with machined hole cutouts. Black Kydex belt clip sheath.
thanks m24, I'm glad I found so many guys here with same passion for knives
If we cant have a good guns at least we can try get good knives.
-- Tue Nov 17, 2009 3:57 pm --
advantage of double sharped edges is that you can slash back without turning knife, stabbing more easy too.
Also when you stab you can keep such blade horizontally and many disarm moves will be impossible to implement.

Re: modern knives
ordered today FIN non serrated tanto (usd 115 with shipment and insurance), I like design of this knife a lot and also dreaming for D2 knife for long time ... seems well enough justified, RAO will wait.
this guy perhaps has the best prices for Kabars.
http://www.tomarskabars.com/5556_INFO.html
D2 steel is superior cutter compare to all kind of other steels. In the C.A.T.R.A. Cutting Test, the D2 scored 300.6 mm, far exceeding it closest competition of only 168.8 mm.

The best thing about knives is they don't run out of bullets.
That's my view anyway. Thanks Mr.Das for all of your posts. Looking forward for more.
