here is some increasingly becoming more popular design for tactical fixed blades.

Started by TOPS, who suppling a lot of knives for US army and now few more companies making similar knives.

TOPS Stryker Defender

Image

mean looking knife, ready for action what ever it can be

Blade Length: 4 3/4"
O/A Length: 10 1/4"
Thickness: 1/4"
Blade Color: Black Traction Coating
Handle Material: Micarta RMT
Sheath: Ballistic Nylon
Mfg. Handcrafted in the USA
Designed by: SGM PETE MOTTA & SFC OJ BAILEY (SF RTD)
Handle Rocky Mountain Tread Design by: Leo "THE LION" Espinoza

here is a long article from Tactical Life about how this knife was created
http://www.tactical-life.com/online/tac ... -defender/

another example

Smith & Wesson Extreme Ops Fixed Blade

10 1/8" overall. 5 1/2" black finish wide design blade with blood groove and Extreme Ops etch. Full tang. Black micarta handles. Lanyard hole. Black nylon belt sheath with metal liner

Image

and more

Currahee Cross Hair
Using many of the techniques and materials used in their small arms production, Microtech’s already solid Currahee Cross Hair fixed-blade knives have been reborn in the new factory. The Cross Hair is a deadly tool suitable for anything an overseas contingency operation can throw at them.
that one would be perhaps my choice from the whole bench

Image

The Currahee Cross Hair features a .200-inch-thick blade of S30V steel. The blade is only 4.48 inches long but appears more massive due to the nearly 2-inch-wide blade. The blade is spear-point shaped and sharpened along both edges.

Great post, Subal. You certainly know your knives. After having a look at the Currahee, I am desiring one. I am also thinking about the RC Izula. I have enough folders to last me this lifetime. It's fixed blades now. Let's see what happens.

you can also take a look at RC RC-4 very popular knife and bigger then Izula, size is matter after all.

advantage of double sharped edges is that you can slash back without turning knife, stabbing more easy too.
Also when you stab you can keep such blade horizontally and many disarm moves will be impossible to implement.

ordered today FIN non serrated tanto (usd 115 with shipment and insurance), I like design of this knife a lot and also dreaming for D2 knife for long time ... seems well enough justified, RAO will wait.

this guy perhaps has the best prices for Kabars.
http://www.tomarskabars.com/5556_INFO.html

D2 steel is superior cutter compare to all kind of other steels. In the C.A.T.R.A. Cutting Test, the D2 scored 300.6 mm, far exceeding it closest competition of only 168.8 mm.

The best thing about knives is they don't run out of bullets. :D
That's my view anyway. Thanks Mr.Das for all of your posts. Looking forward for more.

It's great to learn that you have placed the order of 'FIN non serrated tanto'. I think it is coming thru USPS. Kindly let us know about your experiences like custom clearance / delivery time etc in detail so that we may get the insight.

Good Luck..

that mean you can carry this knife in 70 different ways, on belt in horizontal position (my fav) on belt in vertical position, under arm, as ankle knife or boot knife neck knife etc.

or integrated into your tie, if you are wearing one of course

in most of other knives when you buy knife, then you going into long process of figuring out how you gonna carry it, here it is matter of trying and testing all what you need already supplied with knife.
