Mack The Knife,

There is always something new that a person learns from time to time.At present the M1 carbine is not in service with any of the Armed Forces and therefore the .30 carbine cartridge does not fall in the category of PB.Nor is it mentioned in the category of PB weapons in Schedule 1 of the Arms Rules.I have seen one folding butt version and one full auto version of the M1 carbine so far.The rest are the ordinary M1 carbines.Infact there are a lot of them in the safe custody of dealers, some have been with them for over a decade or more.

Also saw a mint WJ Jeffery 20 ga. hammerless DB shotgun with very nice scroll engraving that a person had deposited with a dealer along with a 30-06 rifle about 12 years back.He had not contacted the dealer since then.

Hi penpusher,

The Paras don't use them any longer but a friend's dad who was a Colonel in the Paras has one and they were used though I have no idea during which period.

Interesting to note that these are not mentioned on the PB list.

Thanks.

ALL .357 mag revolvers chamber the .38 Special as well........or perhaps that`s what you meant. Likewise, the .44 mag chambers the .44 Special also.

Cottage Cheese,

I hope you're joking about buying illegal firearms because I am going to delete your post after other members see it and note my response to it. If you continue to post on illegal gun ownership you will be removed as a member here. We do NOT condone the ownership of illegal firearms anywhere in the world, nor do we condone poaching or the breaking of any laws anywhere.

The purpose of this forum is to organise gun lovers to work for better gun rights. We do not need to have people suggesting what is definitely criminal in our midst.

Hi Mehulkamdar, I am sorry if my post was taken literally. Maybe I should have added a smiley after the line to stress that I definitely was not advocating illegal arms ownership. I was simply putting in my peeves against the system in a rather round about and sarcastic manner. I sure most would guess I'm intelligent enough not to talk or write silly things. It's alright - go ahead and delete the post if it goes against the spirit of the forum.
Sorry about that anyway.

I suppose most friends on this forum must have noticed that most of my posts on this board have had a negative flavor to it. It is only so because issues that prick me enough to write are issues that cause me to be negative. I hope this wont always be so and I hope it will be understood anyway. I intend my rants to be, no matter how negative, inspired by the urge to be constructive in the end.

Cottagecheese,

Most of us can relate to your outrage at what the restriction on the import of firearms and the related inflation in the price of firearms has done to people like us.However this is a public forum and what we write here is visible to all, including people who would be more than happy to see the end of this site. You would agree that this is something that would not be in the interest of anyone of us.

That ,anything that in any way condones or seeming to condone anything illegal, is not welcome on this forum, has been stated often enough. We should all keep this in mind and I am very sure you would do so in the future. What ever the law is,we have to follow it.If we don't like it,then lets make an effort to change the situation and Indianforguns is a step in this direction.

Thanks penpusher for the kind words. I kind of get carried away at times and end up foot in mouth. As for the law, as wood-headed as it is, I'm a strict follower- what else can one do? I always ensure illegal or semi-legal stuff doesn't come to me or my friend for restoration or servicing. What arms I have, are owned on solid un-ambiguous terms and documentation.

I don't hunt anymore because I've gone soft to wildlife. So naturally I wouldnt poach anything other than an egg. I mention this because 'poaching' also came up in the first warning post from mehulkamdar :)

Sorry about the disservice my rants may have caused to ths forum.

Is that ugly yellow icon stay on my id forever? or am I allowed a good behavioue parole in time? :)

Hi there, Cottage Cheese.

Good on you for taking that bit of flack in the right spirit and not getting stroppy about it.

Keep on ranting and don't ever turn into a PC imbecile but do be a bit cautious about what you post on an open forum. There are some people who could easily use the latter part of your post in the wrong context to tar us all. Be a good chap and edit the necessary bits.

Don't know how to remove the yellow card but I am sure Mehul will after he has had a few zzzzzzzs.

Hey all, thanks mucho for being so accomodating. I'll make sure my future mud-slops are self censored for inappropriate content. I will, if its not nasty for IFG to accomodate, continue my spittle campaign against the antics of the babus and the system in general. I think I was born to be that kind of buffon. I'll look to you folks to keep correcting me along the way, if ever I go off track. Here's to IFG.

BTW my id as most would have guessed is cottage cheese... the single e is a typo. Is there a way to change that? :)

eljefe as to your question... I don't own an arsenal at present. The beloved brno is gone. Right now trimmed down to a Harrington & Richardson 12GA (which I've done quite a bit of work on), an FN Browning M1910 .32 Pistol which I look after very well, and a much used Weihrauch HW35 Air Rifle. Of course a lot of licenced weapons stay with me for long periods of time in the process of restoring/rescuing them.... so I don't need to own many weapons to feel I've been there done that... that's the fun part.

Some years ago, much to my consternation, my friend sold of his mint Remington 870 before I could afford it (That was before the MHO got scared out of it wits by the deadly, deadly, deadly 12 pump actions, and when no one really cared what 12Bore you applied for as long as it was not belt fed.)

Cottage Cheese,

I'll remove the Yellow Card as soon as I figure out how to do it. In the meantime, it might make sense to be politically correct especially as far as posting about gun ownership etc is concerned. We cannot afford any negative publicity from anti gunners in the media and there are many itching for a chance to harm this group. The anti gunners would do anything to harm us and not just through adverse publicity in the media. The 34 attempts at hacking our forums as below are testament to this.

Do correct me if I go off track again.

I think you are capable of doing that yourself and you can start by editing the post that caused this storm in a tea cup.
