Info required on Gamo rear sight.

Post by fantumfan2003 » Wed Feb 18, 2009 3:45 pm

Hello Gamo users,

How do you find using this Gamo rear sight.

http://www.gamousa.com/product.aspx?productID=98

http://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2007/10/ ... art-2.html

How is it in construction, material and use ?
Some feedback will be greatly appreciated as I am about to order.

Thanks

Manish

Well, their foresights are utter junk that require you to "baby" them, unless you want to loose the fire optic insert in a hurry and quite frankly even the rear sight does not give one any sort of confidence in terms of build quality (though it does use a bit more metal)... :x

Why are you thinking of changing your rear sights? Did the original one fall apart? Or is this for some other gun?

Cheers!

This is the exact rear sight in my cfx and the built quality is ok/good but it is not micrometric ,the elevation and wintage dial moves smoth without any ticking sound .the rear sight cannot be compared to Hw quality but when compared to Ihp its good, without any shake or twist...
BTW in which airgun have u planned to fix this Rear sight

cheers

Slightly longish, but here goes.

I need a rear sight for replacing my IHP sight on the SPAR as well as the new IHP 35.
I have a Diana 35 rear sight on my Diana 35 and its quite good.
Gsmith has them in stock but wont sell them unless I prove that its required as a replacement for an existing Diana air rifle.
They need a serial number of the gun. My D35 does not have a serial number and I need two sets or maybe three.
Ordering a replacement Diana air rifle sights is turning out to be expensive. The Gamo are cheaper.
If some one can source the Diana sights from GSmith, I'll be more than happy to take that route.
Already an IFG member has generously offered to help me in procuring them from the US.
I do hope I wont have any trouble with the boys in white in getting the Gamo sights by post.

Manish...I did not have any problems with the sights ...but that was when my CFX was still without a scope...for a short period though....yet, please have a look at this....there is a special mention about the rear sight being a bit problematic...

Manish: just a thought; why don't you go in for a peep sight (I take it your Diana has rails ?). You can then use the Diana rear sights on your Spar or 35 :D
I just had a friend get me a Mendoza peep sight from Pyramidair. It's well built and very reasonably priced. He had absolutely no problems at customs.
I'm waiting for Mo to resurface so that he can advise me on the best way of putting rails on my 35.
Mo ! Where in blazes are you ???
