Re: How to buy AirArms S410 Xtra FAC Air Rifle in India
I shall try to answer your questions in reverse order:
i. Airgun power in the UK is regulated by law. Power less than 12fps is ok for general use, power above that is labelled FAC (Firearm certificate) and needs a license. The rest of the world (mostly) does not have such a limitation.
ii. This model probably does not require a license in India, as we do not follow the muzzle energy rules, but a dealwood test (run a search here to see the exact details).
iii. The only way you can get your hands on one in India if off someone whole has brought it as personal baggage, or very rarely, via a dealer import. In both cases, be prepared to shell out some major dosh, much more than the cost of the airgun itself.
iv. you cannot import it by post, if it is .22 cal. You might be able to get it via personal baggage, as the rules are ambiguous there, depending on the customs official on duty at the airport. For more details, I would urge you to visit relevant threads in the forum.
