Hi Friends... I've started My shooting

Post by palani12kumar » Wed Sep 02, 2009 11:12 am

Hi Friends,
I bought an IHP35 .22cal from AIMCO. It was delivered to me yesterday morning. I was happy about MR.Joy while seeing the way the gun was packed. He was a good person to deal with. I thank him for the prompt delivery. The Gun was in superb condition.

Do I need to Zero the gun, i think it was accurate for about 15 meters.

Congrats!!
No Zeroing As long as you are happy with accuracy :)
Safe cocking, safe shooting. No blank fire! Don't keep pellet in the barrel if you don't shoot.

Congratz :D :D

Fire some more pellets to check if its accurate enough. I recommend you take some support like a stack of newspapers, while firing.

If the gun shoots where you are aiming it, then no. Else yes.

Accuracy in a gun would mean it's ability to land each shot in the exact spot as the previous one. It is a different concept to zeroing...which is basically a means to ensure that the point a shot lands is the same as the point you are aiming at.

Hi palani12kumar,
Good to know that you have started shooting. Well your selection of the air rifle and the source for the same are good.
I wish, now that you have started shooting, you will keep shooting and safely. Further hope that you will acquire many more rifles and wishing you all the best.
BTW what pellets are you using.

I'm going on convincing :? my father for what I bought now. He's not ready to believe that it doesn't needs any license. He afraid to see a gun in our home.... I planned to import an Crossman1077(.177 cal, repeater). But don't know, how to manage my father to get it...... :?: :?: :?:

Don't buy a 1077, it is pretty useless and more like a kiddy gun go for a benjamin sheridan pump and you can import a .177 yourself via post, provided you have a rifle club membership. In fact you can take your father along and show him that it is a competitive sport. He might just understand if the club members talk to him.
