.177 has from 5,6.7,8,9,10, grain maybe more or less

.22 has anywhere from 10 to 20 plus grain weighted pellets

did not put the TRICK pellets into play since they are a Magic pellet that lets you BELIEVE you shoot 1,000 FPS with a Diana model 34 or a Gamo

let's put the real brand of pellets to the test but you decide which are the real ones

Dear Warren....pl have a look at the link below...Rifle - RWS Panther31,Caliber - .177, distance - 80m, pellet - GSmith flat head (local),..weight - 8.179gr, velocity 896fps..tried with 7.87gr GAMO Pro magnum, the results were disastrous...cannot meet your requirement/ questions in full...will do so at a later date once the gun settles in and with some reputed brand pellets...

The reason why you won't get a reply in this forum is that we don't get the pellets that you have mentioned freely. .177 match pellets are used mostly by those who are into shooting ISSF style matches. They will normally use H&N 7 grain or 7.5 or whatever grain boxes available with the nra. Few would have shot the other weight-ages. I have shot a box or so of Crosman Premier HP in 15.3 grains or so but I don't have any ctc comparisons for you as the pellets are very hard to come by and rather expensive for us to acquire.

They are a lot of guys who shoot H&N field target trophy in .22 but I doubt that they will waste them doing ctc measurements when there are serious pests, field target matches calling. Apologies for being such a wet blanket but foreign pellets are a pain to acquire for most of us.

I understand now what you mean between what we can buy here in the USA and what you buy in India, real difference in culture naening

here in the USA we can PLINK at paper or hunt feathers or fur, an example;

we have some species of animals that are considered PESTS, non originating species that do not belong to the USA, they are imported from other countries and have reproduced themselves by the THOUSANDS eradicating the species that are native to different areas in the USA

Iguanas in the Florida

Starligs in the norteast

Snakes in the south

Monkeys (Patas and other ones) in the south

Red squirrel, all over the USA

and other more that are not Nartive to the USA and are considered a PEST, which means SHOOT to KILL if you find then in your area, now remember the mentality in the USA is to hunt and not the same as in India

the Iguanas will eat the eggs of native birds in the USA (all the eggs) without distinguishing between breed, the monkey's are not native to the USA and where brought here for experiments but as intelligent as they are the escaped and are causing a BIG problem for the farmers

Snakes like the Python are not native and are brought to this country as Pet's but after they grow to 14 feet long they are released in the wild and they multiplicate by a ratio of 2 to 100 in a year

the red squirrel has the ability to eat the fruit while it is not ripe and leaves the native ones waiting for the fruit to ripe and when it does not happen they die

understand the ecosystem and the hunters, they bring a balance

Game! Warren...but we have some funny laws here ....the pellets would be confiscated by customs.....So I think its game OVER already ......I would love to shoot the RWS/JSBs or CPs in either caliber.....the gun of course would be RWS only....

Currently a minor technicality in the rules prevent us (registered air rifle shooters) from importing pellets directly. Its a matter of a couple of months before we will start getting our pellet imports freely.

When that happens, I'd love to get my self a box of lite and heavy Crosman Premiers

Your post says "your brand", In this case, as "our brand" we use two local brands called Gsmith and Mastershot (flat heads and round heads, roughly 8 and 8.5 grains respectively) and they both are very accurate in all my guns.

Diana air rifles seem to be a common point between you, me, PKJeetesh and several members here. I have a Diana 35 (1968 vintage) and a Diana 24 (1980s vintage).

I also like the fabulous Crosman air guns from the States and have a 2100, custom 1377C from Mac1, SSP250 and a 357. All my air guns are .177. They are very good value for money and I have now started customizing them. I am also setting up our first Field Target Association here (http://mfta.in)

Indeed all foreign air rifles are difficult to get here and very expensive. Except the 357, I have paid an average of US $300 for each of my air guns. But hey no regrets, enjoy them all.

In our country there is a ban on hunting, only Rats and Crows can be hunted and are considered pests. I must say I liked your view on hunting and your data was very informative.

Off topic, since you mentioned pythons, I am always disturbed by the fact that some states in the US allow snakes as pets and there have been fatal incidents involving pythons and their owners or their family, which is very sad.

the crows are a highly intelligent animal, as an example I had one at 20 yards sighted and fired a pellet from a TX200 (Air Arms) air rifle and I missed, don't ask me how I missed I just missed, that crow returns to my house but he stays 40 yards away

and I will tell you they caught a Python snake in South Florida that weighted 340 pounds, 18 feet long just this week

by the way; they transfered 12 Pata monkeys from Puerto Rico to Florida, they were kept in a island with a mout that had 30 yards of water all around and on the 3'rd day ALL of them escaped, they swam out of that island, it took the Florida wild life Department 3 months to catch 10 of tem the other 2 where shot

I have found that the Gamo Hunter pellets 15.8 gr. for the price is a bargain in .22 cal, 500 each for $4.90 of couse that is what they cost here in the USA, good for shooting targets in paper

Welcome magnashot. A lot of pellet makers have made similar claims without any basis whatsoever. I have atleast ten such packs manufactured by a Moradabad manufacturer. All have lines of lead along the seams of the pellets and are erratic from pellet to pellet. If your pellets are superior please make a seperate post with pictures and price details. You must also stop using all caps. Do not put your phone number on a public forum. Please do not repeat this in the future.

I don't understand "Why" would someone buy a quality air rifle and shoot unexpensive pellets??? I do understand shooting some low quality in order to break down a new air rifle

a good air rifle is not the same when brand new versus one that has been shot 1,000 times by then it settles down and you have a complete different air rifle with a smooth firing cycle

please try to use the right pellet for that air rifle

I also understand your community does not have the same options we have in the USA and the prices are way different, easy for me to say buy the best

I find the Gamo Hunter pellets made in Spain with 15.3 gr. a good buy for the money when shooting paper targets' in .22 cal. but for precision shooting;

JSB, RWS, H&N, are far superior

a friend of mine who is neither a shooter nor an enthusiast once told me that I was wasting my time with sub standard pellets plus ruining the gun ...ever since I had been going easy on the guns...I will be getting my state rifle membership in month's time...then I will have access to quality pellets....

meantime...got a tin of 200nos H&N DIABOLO pellets and a box of 100nos RWS Meister-Kugeln...7.09 and 7.71gr respectively for INR900...ie..$20!..approx...the quality is amazing....well worth the money...only did a chrony test...waiting to lay my hands on a few JSBs and CPs before I can perform any accuracy tests...

tell me Warren...at what distance do you want the target to be placed and what shooting position shall I assume...

ask yourself for the possible, can you do this??? without the help of any GOD's

the target should be placed beteen 20 and 40 yards with an air rifle, with open sights or a scoped air rifle, diferent POI but the iron sights do not lie

Tell you WHAT, you might and probably outsoot ,me with the Benjamin M392 against the RWS Model 34 in .22 cal .

Friends which brand of pellets in .22 calibre are the lightest in weight and available in Mumbai.If possible their approx weight in grains please.
