hi doc_brar,
I visited Punjab gun house yesterday. Vishu showed me a winchester semi-auto 12 gauge shotgun for sale for 1.40 lakh.It was a very good gun if your budget permits you..........

He is also about to receive a new stock of 20-25 shotguns so it's a good chance for you to pic one of your choice

Hi Vineet,

Hopefully the Winchester Semi-Auto shotgun is properly licensed as a PB.... if not, it has potential of causing a lot of needless trouble from the authorities if some rare knowledgeable official gets a wind of it.

Where is he anyways ? I have always found his posts to be worthwhile.

It looks like he never reactivated his account after the forum changed hands. I liked his input on things.

What Model is the Arietta...will likely see it next week, when I go to my farm...Jagadhri is pretty close to my place...
Arietta's are great guns, expensive even in the US...but definitely not close to anywhere what he is asking....

Hi Guys ,

I am a newcomer here . have been a shooting afficionado all my life . It seems finally I am getting my shotty and pistol license on 27th aug ( fingers crossed ) . I have two questions :
1) I have a DBBL license - can I buy a single barrel shotty or do I have to apply for a licanse again . Can I also buy a PA against this license .

2) Can you guys suggest a good O/U available anywhere near Delhi recently . My budget is around 30-35 grands .
If you want to shoot , shoot . Don't talk .....

In your budget you can buy an Indian O/U, either by Modern or Mehar Singh....the imported ones start North of 1.5 L...

Dear Sanjay ,

many thanks for replying . Can you tell me where these guys are located ? Do they use MS or El-19 /9 steel for the barrels .

-- Wed Aug 26, 2009 2:28 am --

Dear Sanjay ,

please read En instead of El . I also guess by mehar singh , you are referring to Khurmi gun works . I believe they are closed now . Do you get Khurmi o/u at gun shops in Delhi / Ghaziabad ?
Would love it if you can tell me where modern is located .

I also need a clarification on whether one can legally own a 0.45 calibre handgun in India .

many thanks .

joydeepm,

Kindly look in the shotgun section. There is a thread dedicated to "modern" O/U shotgun which will answer all your queries ; same with the .45 cal issues if you look at the appropriate thread.

best,

go for forieng make ...............I think most Indian make sotguns dont have any chokes................you can go for single shot an impoted one would cost 25,000 to 30,000 ..............I dont know why most folks ignore the single shot but these are very rugged guns safe to shoot and hardly need any maintainence and also improves your shooting skills and saves ammo
