Post by drsachinks » Tue Aug 11, 2009 10:49 pm

I am looking for competition air rifles manufactured in India or used imported air rifles.
Please advice which would be the best air gun (Indian make /2nd hand imported) for 10 meter shooting tournament for professional shooting competitions.
Also please help in getting me the contact details of such sellers.

if you consider Indian make then IHP is your only option, but I would suggest go for imported one of famous make like FWB and Anschutz or walther.. FWB 300S is a awesome springer in this category but they are out of production now and hard to find one in good nick. Also you can consider FWB 500, FWB 601 or FWB 700 if budget is not a problem .. on a low budget Avanti is a nice model to start with. There are various make and model which are specially meant for competition shooting and one has to choose among them based on his needs and preference.

As suggested by other memeber you may contact mayuri mukherjee, she is a national shooter and deals with this types of rifles and pistols, also you may try looking at indianshooting.com they are providing option to buy new and used competition rifles and pistol from their site, also if you are associated with any rifle club they may assist you importing a brand new one of your own. If I am not misaken one of our fellow member imported a FWB700 directly by post for his own usage, and he posted a detail step by step process of required document and cost involved in that process also he shared his expereince and pros and cons of it. a 35% duty was applicable on that time but its now waived for members associated with any rifle club.

Hope this helps
