GAMMO Air rifles
Hi Guys...
Have any one heard of Gammo air rifles from Spain? They claim high velocity and accuracy. We have a dealer in Kuwait selling all models of Gammo. I checked it out last thursday and the range is fantastic but what that annoyed me was they don't manufacture any .22(Yes, am a.22 fanatic) All they have is .177, both springers and CO2. They have a fair good collection of scopes, pellets and accessories as well.
There was one model that caught my attention ie: break barrel Shot (air) gun !!!!!!!!!You can use lead shots as well as a .22(this is their only .22 model) pellet via an adaptor. The barrel is smooth so we can guess the accuracy with a single pellet. It claims that it works just like a shot gun in medium shot range and it look like a neat shot gun like those what we see in Hollywood movies. Gammo brand seems to be way behind diana or BSA atleast in India. Does anybody own one??? Do let us know your comments.

I have gamo. This low cost baby can make you a happy owner if you give her a proper tuning. Wisper and CFX will surely be a keeper, they are accurate and powerful. They are well balanced and excellent design. The trigger is better now but can be excellent if you spend extra $30 and buy a GRT trigger. Don't look at shotgun airgun. They are not worth to look at.

Gamos are worth the money you pay for. Very decent airguns. Quiet a few forum members own them. But if I were you and would not mind the additional money, I would look at buying a Weihrauch which is also available in Dubai. No idea about their availability in Kuwait though.

Have a .22 Gamo CFX. For its price range (200 euros) it is worth every cent. It is powerfull and accuracy is not bad at all. But ofcourse nothing like the HW 97 or the TX 200, but then it all depends on how much you can spend. Go for the best possible.

Have used a Gamo hunter extreme, with PBA pellets its supposed to shoot at 1600+ FPS, with lead around 1200 fps. I was pretty impressed with its power. Here's a vid of someone putting a feral pig down with it. http://video.yahoo.com/watch/55316/1079652

Have a BSA Comet aka Gamo Shadow (.22 cal), like Catfish says - their guns are worth the money they charge, but not a cent more. In airguns (like in most things in life) you get what you pay for... so go for the best you can afford! Before I picked up my TX200 I was considering a Gamo, but a dear friend talked me out of it... and I thank him to this day!
Not to run the Gamo's down, if you want a casual plinker these are most definitely good bargains, but they are no where close to being the best springers. Personally I'm happy with mine, did not cost too much to start with (about GBP 150, though I hear the prices have gone up since) so it makes a good "back of the truck" airgun... I hear the CFX model is pretty good, but I have no first hand experience on that one.
For springers that can stand the test of time and provide ultimate accuracy go for the Weihrauch or AirArms range of springers, a step lower would be Diana's...
Cheers!

Dear Sir:
I beg to difer from you

granted the HW's are far superior but only because of the trigger, barrel quality and the AA only has the TX200 to compete but with the Dianas' you have a M48 with a TO1 trigger the M350 which has 800+ fps in .22 cal and at the low end the M34
you could also consider the M460, M54 in the Diana format and for the price they are unbeatable
yes, the old HW, AA or Beeman R series are some of the best but for the buyer of today with a little money the Diana is a steal and comparable
some background on the Gamo air rifle; the CFX is pretty good but the trigger is really bad and it brings the air rifle down, besides the Gamo trigger is the worst trigger in these brands, that is why the GRT trigger from Charlie the Tuna is the perfect replacement for the Gamo triggers
