Can anyone post a tutorial on "How to Dismantle National 35 air gun" ? A video or a photo shoot or even a detailed write up would be fine.

I need to remove the internal stuff as my welder says he cannot weld the 11mm rail with the whole gun intact.

I am planning to fit a scope on my National 35.
I need the inner and outer diameter of the receiver tube of the National 35 on which the scope rail will be fitted.
I need this info so that I can plan for either a screw mount or welding of the scope rail.

Can anyone tell me what is the dimensions of the 11 mm scope rail ?

IMHO You need to remove one 0 from that figure of 200. I don't think IHP is capable of doing that, not that big powerplant you know. Please read up this post from Page 1 to learn more about your Air gun and Shoot it more often to understand its capability.

Welcome to IFG.Were you using a scope and a modified spring-piston set-up? If you were using iron sights,how much elevation do you think is needed to touch the target at 150 feet with the National AR?

May I take this chance to request you to go through the information available on these boards to familiarise with technicalities of firearms,legal conditions related to shooting sports etc?Hope to see regular participation from you.

Sujay, you are one of those who put the stigma on gun ownership; even I shoot dogs including strays, but that's with Ivermactin or other medications, when required. Shoot, but creatively and not on helpless creatures. The stray dogs at least keep your locality burglar free.

What do you mean by local made air guns. - the type that is made at home or the ones like IHP, SISCO etc which are locally available.
If it is the first criteria then im not sure if there is a restriction on making one yourself.
The locally available ones like - IHP, sisco, hessbee etc etc are quite legal.

Home made airguns - i have no idea if that is legal or not.
Yes, there are lots of pages to read on IHP. .22 is available freely and there is no restriction on that.
IHP 35 B is one with a synthetic washer. Cant say much about the comparison but the synthetic washer seems to be an improvement.

please go over tenx 's excellent posts on air rifle shooting, to get and idea of how to hold and shoot with open sights n a springer.

as for zeroing, remember to choose a distance (say 10m),position, hold, wind and be consistent with every shot for the process. you will have to shoot at least five shots, then adjust your sights as per the IHP manual, then shoot another five shots and adjust accordingly. the key word is duplication....you have to take every shot as you did the last one.

a helpful tip is,when zeroing, instead of free holding the rifle with both hands, rest the fore end on a soft cushion or a ban bag to stabilise it, grip the rear softly.

I am planning to buy an air rifle and undertand that IHP is the best indian rifle. I have narrowed down to the two choices below.

• Indian Hume Pipe's Model 35 calibre .177/4.5mm

• Indian Hume Pipe's National model 35 calibre 5.5mm/.22

Please can you advise which of these would be a better buy and why.

What is the difference between a .177/4.5mm & .22/5.5mm.
