phorgun -match 35 review

Post by cherian.k.k » Wed Jul 15, 2009 2:01 pm

Hello all
Sorry for posting this review so late. I bought the gun directly from phorguns as they have not started supply to kerala dealers.
Name- match 35
Price- The gun costed Rs.16999 + tax[I don’t remember the correct amount]
Caliber-.177
Trigger- ball bearing ,adjustable
.The gun gun can be used both as open sight rifle and peep sight rifle [they provide both sight] .Even though this rifle may not be used against pcp rifles in nationals, this can surly be used to train newcomer to the shooting field . as the this gun give the feel of a peep sight rifle.

35 match as an open sight rifle
As an open sight rifle , it is an exelent gun. The cheek piece and the butt plate are adjustable which is great advantage .The trigger system is also a step forward[even though not smooth as Diana] .once you get the feel of this gun one can perform well.i am getting good grouping
[The picture of my target will be posted soon].

35 match as a peep sight rifle
as I have written earlier this gun can be used to train the beginner so he can learn how to aim using peep sight. The rear sight they provide are neatly made.one of my friend who is a air rifle [peep sight] shooter said the gun perfoming ok ,but one has to spend time on it
so that one can perform well

changes I made
the front tunnel which came with the gun was 13mm,so I bought anschutz 18mm tunnel to change the insert, as they provide only one insert, and I found 13mm inserts are hard to get.
Trigger – the trigger was not smooth and the first pull was too long,so I added one ball bearing in to the trigger system which helped to smoothen it and remove the first pull
I also did stippling on it to get a good grip[thanks Mack The Knife he gave me the idea and how to doit]
To end with The design of the gun is in the right direction but quality should improve

Compared to ihp it is a big step forward . It is smooth. One does not strain finger to pull trigger like ihp. Everyone please note the review is on match 35. Dr. Ronish who has bought modle 27 will post his review
