Dear Jayanta,

Am I to take that as a compliment or a sarcasm?

ROTLORD,
well buddy you got me wrong this time since I was intrigued by the fact of your being a rottweiller breeder in West Bengal. To be very honest would have solicited your help since a few days back one of my clients wanted to pick up a rot. puppy and ?i had suggested him Mr. Basuli.

Of course we are, Jayanta, but you didn't get my joke. If he is still willing, then I can still be of some help. But my real passion is taming the Rotties with behavioral problems; mine was one that was a terror even a year back (got a total of 5 people hospitalized by the time he was 14 months old). I rescued him from the euthanasia table and now, he is a lovable kid who roams in the locality without being on the leash. And by Jove, I haven't have raised my hands on him even for a single day. This is him:

Dear Rottlord.. I hope you take this as sarcasm and be as eager as your Rotts in attitude and capacity...
however, pls dont rule me out when it comes to a sudden 'ding dong' on your door step requesting you for adoption of one of your Rotts (or their pups)... ;)

All the very best chief :)

He is a magnificent creature.. one of nature's blessings.. :)
I personally want to highlight your mention of "I haven't have raised my hands on him even for a single day" .. which underlines the fact of being able to understand the species that so much understand us ...

Great going :)

Well, that's how you need dealing with them, for my personal experiences say they imitate humans and capable of hiding true feelings. This is why people avoid Rotts pretty much and there are weird stories around.

BTW, there are no Rotts; Adolf is my only Rott. He has three wives, though; at different parts of the city.

If I may digress a degree beyond, it takes a doggie attitude to understand another, and maybe thats the secret story behind owing, training, understanding and gel-ing with these lovables ;)

Mark, I loved to see that you never keep your kids away from your rottie; the way most of these wonderful family clowns are treated in India is bound to enrage the real dog lovers.

Thanks a lot for your offer Rottlord. I surely do want one, but guess I cant go ahead right now. Am tied up in domestic engagements and having a new puppy will create a compromise in my initial bonding with it. Matter of fact, just today, my male GSD Simba dragged it hind legs for a few minutes and was losing balance. Internet searches talked about some incurable diseases and for the first half of the day until the vet told me that alls well, I could not even eat anything. I get too attached to my pets and a good Rott is the fav of both my wife and me. I would not want to compromise on its initial months of growing up in the family :)

Seems your dog is suffering from Hip Dysplasia; please keep him on these meds for the next 30 days.

1. Liv 52 DS: 2 tabs a day at 12 hrs gap.
2. Lubrijoint Plus: 2 tabs a day for the first 7 days and 1 tab a day for the next 23 days.
3. Shallaki (Boswellia Serrata): 2 tabs a day, after 2 hrs of administering Lubrijoint plus. This u must continue for 90 days; 2 capsules a day.
4. Gokshura (Tribulus Terrestis): 1 tab every night.

The first one and the last two are the products of Himalaya Healthcare. The combined effects shall start showing within 7 days of administering; the next 23 days shall reinforce this effect.

Also, if he is used to dog food, keep him on Royal Canin Berger Allemond or Junior 31. I prefer the Junior 31 formula more, because of the higher levels of Glucosamine Sulphate and Chondroitin in it.

Hope it helps.

-- Mon Jun 22, 2009 20:00 --

The Liv 52 DS shall guard the liver against the small amounts of Ascorbic acid present in Lubrijoint Plus, while Gokshura shall help keeping his hormone levels and urino-genital system up to the mark. Shallaki shall strengthen the cartilages and ligaments as well as keep the joints hydrated.

-- Mon Jun 22, 2009 20:07 --

My experiences say that vets ask u to ignore things till they become colossal; it's something they do to charge u more. My Adolf had a kidney infection and no vet could cure it; it's my own ayurvedic knowledge that saved him.

Hip dysplasia is to be confirmed by X-rays before you start treating it. Sudden transient weakness in the hinds could be due to a variety of other causes so please treat your dog after proper investigations and confirming the diagnosis.
I am sure Rottlord means well but diagnosis over the internet is not a good idea.
Regards,
Yaj.

My mistake guys.. for hijacking the thread. Sincere Apologies.
I have started another topic on this discussion, and request the MODs to move the above thread discussing dog diseases to the topic Hip Dysplasia - Discussion on treating Dogs. (http://www.indiansforguns.com/viewtopic ... 46&start=0)

Many thanks in advance :)
