I have tried AND FOUND THAT IT DOES NOT WORK WITH iof RDS AND THE CYLINDER IS MADE OF ALUMINIUM AND THE ROTATION IS NOT SMOOTH.If u can raise the budgetbuy 32instead.

It is not advisable to go in for the IOF .22 in its current aluminium avatar.....

Maybe once the steel is introduced....we could take a chance!!

the finishing might be bit bad. but it works fine. am satisfied with .22. and, for buying the carts from Delhi it is not possible as i am situated in mumbai

hi guys,
i am from punjab, i have IOF licensed .22 revolver. according to me its nice weapon. It has good looks over .32 bore revolver. Its light weight made of alluminium alloy. i also used .32 iof revolver after selling it i bought .22 revolver. i carry it in chest holster, i feel very comfortable while carrying it.
Its a eight shot revolver. i always use imported amunition. its ammunition size is small and hence its easy to keep in pocket and store it.here in punjab dealers sale it with a price tag of Rs. 50,000/-. from IOF u can get it for nearly Rs 41,000 with all taxes from ishapore factory.
If u have a small bugdet then go for it. Its not tht bad as the people think about it.
i used it many times for my defence it proved a nice weapon for me.
though it has some cons like it need a handling care like avoid dropping it on hard surfaces at all costs. Avoid firing it empty as damages the firing pin and chamber as its made of alluminium alloy. and always use imported cartridges. DNT WORRY FOR THESE WARNINGS AS THESE WARNING ALSO CAME WITH IMPORTED ALLUMINIUM REVOLVERS.
if u buy it from IOF directly then change the grips in market very attractive grips are avaliable.
if u r planning to buy then go for it.

A general note, no gun should dry fired to any extend, and rimfires especially so, regardless what they are made of. With rimfires, unless they are well designed and manufactured (and expensive), the tip of the firing pin usually protrudes beyond the rim of the bolt face. When dry fired, the tip will strike the face of the breech. Two things can or will happen. If the tip of the pin is softer than the barrel, it will upset and become blunt, and you'll start getting misfires. Usually the barrel is softer, and the impact of the pin raises a burr on the edge of the chamber. When a cartridge is fired the case expands in front of that burr, and the extractor slips off the rim, you have a stuck case. The problem is so common in older much dry fired .22s, that Brownells even sells a tool to iron out that burr, without having to remove the barrel. There's a reason why the make snap caps! You can check your rimfire by looking at the bolt face in uncocked position. If the tip of the firing pin is flush with the rim, does not protrude beyond it, dry firing will do not harm to the breech. I still will eventually crystallize the pin, causing it to break. Cheers.

Some good news for all of you who own 22 IOF Revolvers .....soon u wud be getting 22 ammo manufactured by Kirkee factory on a plant imported from ELEY....and if thats so ur 22 revolvers won't be so bad after all.....

When would this ammo be available, it would be very nice to find some decent KF .22 LR pills. I hope the materials also improve beyond the legendary 'non-corrosive smokeless powders' and 'suitable for general hunting purposes only'.
