Hi shakravenrider,

IMHO You need to remove one 0 from that figure of 200. I don't think IHP is capable of doing that, not that big powerplant you know. Please read up this post from Page 1 to learn more about your Air gun and Shoot it more often to understand its capability.

BTW Welcome to the forum, Please post a introduction to let members know you better.

Inder,

200 feet or 66.67 yards would be possible with a little holdover.

Oops my bad..didn't realize its feet not Yards..

So Shakravenrider, as out resident airgun guru says its possible but still 67 yards is a big distance to cover for a .22 pellet fired from a IHP so practice and practice hard :)

Hi

I have a N35 0.177 air rifle which is now about 2 months old. The gun did not come with any printed manual. Request help with the following questions:

What is the best maintance schedule -- do I need to put a few drops of oil down the barrel every 2 months ( as mentioned by the IHP dealer)?

How to lubricate the spring and the leather piston?

I read on the net that it is a good idea to tighten the 2 main side screws which hold the cylinder / barrel and the stock together. Should these be fully tightened?

Regards,

GAG

Dear Gag..
Dont put oil in the barrel
The spring is greased when sold. If it gets too cranky, which should be after several thousand shots or a long duration of not using, only then should something like silicone grease be applied, not oil.
You can remove the two side screws and fit them back using lock-tite or any similar screw threading agent. You should tighten it adequately, and all the way in. If you over tighten, the treading may wear out..

Hope this helps :)

Check out new air rifles from Phorgun. They are from alcutta and three models (.177 and .22) have a ball bearing trigger which should be a lot more easier on the pull than IHP.

Thanks a lot TenX

How does the barrel get cleaned from inside? The gunsmith at IHP dealer at Crawford Market (Mumbai) seems to suggest that putting a few drops of oil down the barrel, leaving overnight and then next day firing a few shots would clean the depoists in the barrel... any views on this?

2ndly, I beleive the piston is made of leather and needs lubrication to keep moist,. Is that correct?

I would disagree on the oil in barrel part completely.
Oil and any such thing starts off the dieseling which is only bad. If one really wants to clean the inside of the barrel, shooting a couple of cotton pads should suffice. There are cotton cleaning pellets for this. Some have even tried ear buds with good effect. You can also use a pull thru.. but mostly, leaning often is not advised for air guns. You can, however, block the muzzle end with a cotton cloth or something similar, so that moisture and dust do not enter the inside of the barrel when storing or carrying.
The piston is not made of leather. If you want to lubricate the action part of the rifle, I would suggest you remove the metal part from the stock (in IHP), and you will find a slit on the underside which reveals the spring; you can add a bit of silicone grease in this part and semi cock the rifle a couple of times for the lubrication to spread... You should do it once in a long while.. when you think the spring needs it only.

Thanks tenX.. I can see that G Smith website sells the soft cleaning pellets. Regards GAG

Please do not use the cleaning pellets, as these do not give sufficient pressure and can act as a dry fire, so if quiet a few is fired it would spoil your gun.

Instead use a pull through which you can make it at home with fishing thread it is very effective. Do not worry about cleaning the interior of barrel till the grouping open up or you have fired around 1000 pellets through it.

Also if your rifle is just 2 months old than your IHP would have the synthetic washer and not the leather one. You do not have to oil your synthetic washer unlike the leather one.

Greetings!

I am planning to fit a scope on my National 35.
I need the inner and outer diameter of the receiver tube of the National 35 on which the scope rail will be fitted.
I need this info so that I can plan for either a screw mount or welding of the scope rail.

Can anyone tell me what is the dimensions of the 11 mm scope rail ?

Thanks in advance.

Jay.

Internal Specs:

Coil Bound = 4.75"
ID=.5040"
OD=.7400" and it can take upto .8110

If you need to put tophat and spacer( I use always) then you need small spring. JM e3650 or Tarantula would be excellent for this.

coil bound for E3650 will be 4.20" ; for Tarantula 4.224 and you will still have room for tophat.

Hi,
Thanks for the info Tirths.

Can anyone post a tutorial on "How to Dismantle National 35 air gun" ? A video or a photo shoot or even a detailed write up would be fine.

I need to remove the internal stuff as my welder says he cannot weld the 11mm rail with the whole gun intact.

Jay.
