Re: Airgun import experiences - via post/ courier route
Dear Tirths
The price including courier charges, testing /chronnograph results and accuracy checking by Mr. Dean Caldwell of Topairguns is Approx. Rs. 70,000. This also includes one spare magazine, one single loader tray, and some oils.
The pump is a story of "peheley chabuk, badmey Ghora" Mr. Amitoj Indersingh,(ai) was selling a Hills pump, about three months back. I had bought it at that time anticipating the rifle.I would like to take this oppertunity to express my gratitude to ai. for a brand new pump at a very reasonable cost.
Dear sniper,
I am a member of Central Calcutta Rifle Club, affiliated to NRAI. We pay regular dues to NRAI per member per Year.

If it has cleared customs then you need to do nothing but wait for the postman to bring your parcel to you.
Lucky you. Have fun.

What's in it ? Pellets or an air rifle? The most intriguing message is : Bullet Out of Foreign Customs, June 06, 2009, 11:13 am, INDIA. I am so sorry Sanjiv just can't decipher this one. You'll just have to wait it out, by the way they do take their time to send the notification. So trust the force and wait .

Bullet is the "Bullet" in word or powerpoint not "our" Bullet.
What i am confused about it the info saying "Out of Foreign Customs"
That statement is by the USPS site. So does it mean
-Cleared Indian Customs ?
or
-Cleared Indian Customs and going or gone to FPO office
I am very tempted to call the on the nos. provided by GG (Thanks GG) would doing so do me good or bad ?
Or should I just wait to recieve her or their notice.....
Frankly I don't believe my good luck because I did not send any of my Club Membership info to Mac1.

Cleared Indian Customs in this case normally indicates that the parcel is currently with Customs for inspection. You can call them and ask whether you can come in and show your club membership details. Or you can wait for the postman to bring you an intimation saying that you need to give in your documents at the postal customs office. Keep your USPS tracking number handy when you call the FPO.

Re: Airgun import experiences - via post/ courier route
ok,
manish you would definetily get a show cause notice,gg is right after the first clearance of customs ,it goes back to postal customs, where the parcel would get a thourough check, they also have the right to open your package,if they feel a showcause is required for certain documents they will send the notice to you,or else they will access and calculate the duty or just stamp 'FREE' and send it to you.
the final usps tracking details looks something like this, may be a final delivery timing gets mentioned after a day or two of when you sign the acknowledgement to the postman-
Label/Receipt Number: **************

Re: Airgun import experiences - via post/ courier route
biking,
So do you suggest I sit tight and wait to hear from them ? I was thinking of going to their office and asking for the parcel. If I go to them they may sense my desperation and that might lead to other things. If I sit tight I will be sweating it till I lay my hands on her.
What do you suggest.

Re: Airgun import experiences - via post/ courier route
i would still suggest you to sit tight,it takes them some time before they send you a showcause after your parcel enters postal customs, their small nos of staff is always overwhelmed by the nos of parcels that comes in,and the govt i guess is very particular to security all the more after the mumbai attacks and they would screen each of those parcels before letting them thru,as its still a manual work and no xrays and scanning m'cs yet in there.fantumfan2003 wrote:biking,

just wait,or incase you cant wait any longer for more news, instead of doing a physical presence there just give them a call and state your tracking number and ask for only the status of the parcel as the tracking site says it has reached India,...after that just listen to the person without interrupting him!
