To the best of my knowledge there is no separate notification, but you can go through the EXIM policy and look for the relevant entry there. AFAIK there is no restriction on imports of archery equipment, these should be typically classified under sporting equipment. BTW I'd suggest going in for a proper compound rifle crossbow and not one of those underpowered pistol crossbows that usually pop up in the Indian market....

Cheers!

James,

Seek a clarification from the customs dept or file an application under RTI.An application under RTI would not cost much ( Rs.10+30-40(from a Public Sector Bank) for the draft+30-40 for the speed post).

Importing cross bows are banned in India. Only traditional Archery equipments are allowed to be imported like Recurves. will try to get hold of the material which I am basing my opinion.

Import of crossbows is legal in India. Refer: http://www.indiansforguns.com/viewtopic ... 596#p98873
No idea about quality of Gsmith crossbows. After comparing information as provided on websites, GSmith(Pune) crossbows appear very much under powered when compared with those available abroad.
