New IFG User experience

Post by mishradk » Tue Apr 14, 2009 11:45 am

Hi Abhijeet and all ,
Accept my greetings.
It is nice to see the new look of IFG.. it is really gr8.
I have few small observations..
(I had used Firefox 3.0.8 and IE 6 on XP)

1) The top part ( the name and the logo place) takes too much space in the screen as compared to information area.. (Explorer navigation bar +Top Logo bar + Google adds take up 2/3 of the screen )
2) Even though the posts are of one line or two, takes up too much of space. So with my resolution (1440 X 900) screen also I have to scroll a lot to see the contents.. I think the reader would like to see more content in less scrolling. Now a days with wide screen Laptops and LCD screens height needs to be carefully used.

3) Just for a try I called 5 friends and all found it difficult to read the "Indians for Guns. com" in their first attempt.
I think "Indians" and "Guns" are the two words where they found it difficult. Alphabets are bit close and the top half of the alphabet in this Font/ Graphics are but squeezed. which makes the letters life F, G, N, D/O difficult to read.

All above are my personal way of thinking and user experience. Other user may find it different. Hope no one minds.

If possible I will find some time and will have a look at the other parts of the website and let you know my User Experience ( both from UI, look n feel and content )

Otherwise the web site looks beautiful and I am seeing most of the people are as active as those yahoo group days.

Regards
MishraDK

Some good feedback there, thank you DK. Will see what I can do to improve things... BTW, nice to see you back. :)

Cheers!
