As an example of overcoming adversity, Karoly Takacs has few peers. He was part of Hungary’s world champion pistol-shooting team in 1938, when an army grenade exploded, crippling his right hand. Ten years later, having taught himself to shoot with his left, he won two gold medals in the rapid-fire class.

Thats a great gun we had one growing up and it will last you life time with proper care and is quite a rugged one. As Abhijeet mentioned thats a serious scope and I would recommend having him fire with open sites. With BBs be careful not to fire at a wall or hard target - remember Newtons third law of motion and the BBs bounce back quite precisely.
Enjoy

Re: She is finally here : The Crosman 2100 Classic
Thankyou all.
My son is thriled with the new acquisition though I do need to nudge him away from the Diana 35 and its trigger that he loves so much ("Why" I asked, "Its two stage" was the reply. He has even taken the D35 to bed a couple of times...seriously...the little chap loves his rifles).
Whats nice is he likes the manageable weight of the 2100.
We won't be shooting any BBs for obvious reasons.
The scope was just an experiment and is a bad idea to put on to the 2100 as it spoils the balance of this fine air rifle.
The opens sights and four pumps for 10mtrs practice is perfect for him.

Good on you, Manish!
How old is your son? Mine are 7 and 10 and its time I got them their own air-rifles.

He will be 7 soon. About time you got your sons their own.
I meant to ask you. While storing the 2100 is it a good idea to keep it away with a single pum to prevent dust geeting into the innards like the Benji's ?

Hi
Thats a great gun to own and believe me it is quite versatile . It is a serious weapon and the penetration will be far more than the D 35.
Now for a word of caution to all pump gun owners .
Do NOT lube this gun with WD 40 Or Machine oil this will literally cause the gun to internally combust always use only crosman pellgun oil or Automatic transmission fluid 2drops where indicated every box of pellets or so.
Otherwise enjoy

Manish: Yes, store it with one pump worth of air. Does the rifle fit your son or is he holding the buttstock under the armpit? If it's a good fit for him then please let me know where it was bought and the cost of postage.
Thanks.

Sorry for the delay in replying to you. Needed to do a little photo session to answer your question.
Here is the proud little owner with his pride and joy

He holds it below his arm pit. I will have to make another stock. I plan to have one which will have an adjustable length of pull and an adjustable butt plate as well so we can increase the pull length as he grows.
And thank you for the Bushnell 5-15x40, it has finally found company to sit on
http://picasaweb.google.com/Point177/Cr ... 1520453842
The Leapers is 250 odd grams heavier than the Bushy and spoilt the ballance of the rig. But the Bushy is almost perfect. The mildots help immensely in holding over and under while plinking in our backyard. Both scopes are bright even at full magnification.
My better half is not in favour of the little one shooting a scoped air rifle. She says he should do it with open sights. Your thoughts ?

The lube is also called Non Detergent (ND) 30 ? I read on network54.com that pellgun is the same.
